Those looking for a C2

Black/black C2 just gone up on PH. Not many details but I'm sure this combo would appeal to a few:

With the age of these cars 130,000 miles is really only average mileage IMO. The condition the car is in is the key to whether it is a good one.

totally agree Steve .... no good having a car with 50k on the clock if it's as rough as old boots!!!

would sooner have a mint one, with 150k on the clock [;)]

New advert just gone on pistonheads. Low mileage black car:

I'm a relative newcomer to this forum, but I searched for a decent 964 for an age and then at the beginning of last year I came across Adrian Crawford Specialist Cars nr Plymouth. He has a passion for all things Porsche and has been sourcing and supplying for well over 20 yrs. Thoroughly nice guy as well. Spent a whole day talking Porsche with him. I was prepared to pay top dollar for a good example and I got lucky. Now the owner of a 91 C2 Tip coupe in Polar Silver with full leather interior one previous owner, full service history and only 19000 genuine miles. I can really recommend Adrian but finding a really good 964 will take time and patience, but they do exist.
Regards
Chris

as with all engines like others have said if it aint broke dont fix it just do the services and enjoy the car,its there to drive so go and play we all waited long enough to own one so forget about what you can sell it for and enjoy.
if no rattles or smoke or massive oil leaks then it going to be fine.I do leak down test on engines and the only time we have ever found bad ones they can be seen coming what with smoke and rattles.
go drive and enjoy.
live the dream lol

looked at a couple of nice 964s today a C2 tip and a C4 manual..

Bothe were very good externally... the interior of one - especially the front seats looked a little tired.

Are there specialist companys out there that will renovate / repair / recover the front seats and if so - what sort of price should i ecpect as a rough estimate...

If/When i get a 964/993 its gotta be "special"

Its possible to re-dye front seats yourself using a Gliptone kit or similar product. These are easy to use. Expect to pay £15 for a one seat kit or £40 for a full kit. You can also have the seats dyed at a professionals for not a lot of money.

Good luck with the search :)

WOW thats cheap - how long ago was that

That was April 2009 - they are all ex Connolly guys who really know their stuff. There are always loads of lovely old cars in and around their workshop - lovely old '60's Aston Martin when mine were in.

They are on the same estate as Unit 11 Porsche specialist.
