To Renew or, Not Renew.....

ORIGINAL: supersport

All a bit angry there Pete.

But having looked at R23 you do have a point. In fact it does remind me that R23 had a WOTY in the same hotel as us this year, but the week before. I was really suprised as there was no mention of it on the forum or in PP, I went back and checked. I suspect the Region is run by email list, or telepathy, as it is not at all obvious how things are organised, but there must be things happening.

Just need to correct myself, it wasn't R23 at all, but Surrey R29.

I think you will also find that Andy organises 944 events and, not 911 events. Read through his previous posts! And while were on the subject, what's wrong with 944 only meets (or transaxle meets)?

The "Transaxle" Facebook group that Andy and I organise is targeted at owners of "front engined Porsches" so 924, 928, 944 and 968s however at many events we welcome all Porsche cars along. On the run up to Snetterton this weekend, for example, we're delighted to have 4 x 996, a 911SC, a Boxster and a 912 joining us (and not forgetting a Mark II Golf GTi)

We're an inclusive bunch and open to all friendly souls [:)]

What's the Facebook page called.

Reading all this made me wanna join I filled the form out then noticed that there was a further £10 joining fee making it £70
Think I'll have to give it a miss for now seeing as Christmas is just around the corner

I'll think I'll join in the new year now once I've got the car back on the road

Mr Simkin Sir, happy to report, NO blood pressure issues as yet (as far as I know) [][:D].
Frenchy, How do the wheels look on the Beemer Jim'? That was a nice easy one. No stress there methinks [;)].
Mc Nutters, I hear what you are saying now that you are making sense Paul. Yes, I may just drop a line to the Regional Director. I would like to sort this issue out. There must be other people in East Sussex that like Porsche's [8D]. Surely it can't just be me?
Mark Supersport, It is definitely Telepathy mate. It has to be [;)]. And believe me, there is nothing "happening" in R23 [8|].
Tref', Who are "They"? Exactly! My point entirely [:(][:D]!!

Ok Chaps.........RANT OVER []!!!!!!!!![:D]

So, can membership renewal's be done on line Paul?.....[:D]

I'm up the North end of Hampshire and would be happy to meet but unfortunately my 944 will be off the road after this Sunday until sometime in February. Still happy to come to a meet in the Merc or my Golf, though.

Pete, the Schnitzer wheels were given a good clean and a coat of wax, one of the tyres had a puncture due to a nail but could be repiared, wheels now fitted and the car looks tickety boo, it gets some admiring glances which is nice [:D]

Jim, you do know that most 'cant be repaired' punctures can, in fact, be repaired, dont you? What tyre fittters should say is that the simple plug repair that they make cant be used, but that a proper hot vulcanised repair (overnight in an autoclave) can repair any puncture on the tread and any sidewall puncture that has not damaged the cords. In practice this means piercing sidewall punctures and some tread to rim cuts depending on cord damage.

"That cant be repaired mate: its illegal" - so may new or otherwise good tyres are discarded as a result of this ignorant/dishonest advice.

happy to meet up some where warm !! LOL.. I will still be using the 44 though the winter, that's what the jet wash it for LOL.. I had the 1970 Mercedes out in the snow last time it was great! more sideways in the car park than forward I learn loads of car control and had a blast and didn't damage the car.. ( rear wheel drive ) I think it's important to know what to do if the back end comes out in the wet on the road. ( but i learnt in the empty car park, Private! ) I was supprised how little effort was needed to maintain and hold the slide and bring it back into line.. 2 hrs of self teaching was great fun !

I'm not being precious about the '44... I won't have it since it will be lodged in a body-shop for some tidying up.

Not too far from Hampshire although, JMG have the '44 at present. There's always the T4 though [8D]! Just say a date. Saturdays are always better for me than Sunday's because of my Church commitments [:)].
