Track Evening, 16th July -- Bruntingthorpe, Leics

I haven't cleaned my car yet so dont know how bad it is under the flies.

Talking to Paul today, I think you might be best to leave the car dirty and remember the evening for the good points.

If you had slipstreamed a bit closer you would have no flies to wash off, his flames must have been 4 foot long at some places []

The stone issue. I do not seem to have a problem, (do I hear shouts of 'he was not trying hard enough' !!) this is mainly due to the front PU bumper -- seems to shrug off stones with no chips.

Also, I went down the long straight well to the LHS and this meant that I was clear of the cars I might of been overtaking (or well to the RHS if being overtaken) and it made the turn at the end much easier to negotiate at speed.

I will go again -- probably at the end of August. It is close by, it is cheap and I like the informality -- providing we have no more suicidal Ginettas (anyone got the fuller story on this bit of action?).

Our front bumpers are also PU but my stonechips show as white so maybe that makes a difference. A few of us were considereing snetterton, and there is a goldtrack silverstone gp day in November for £150. I want to do Donnington again too as I've only been there once,
Tony

Yes I think we've got half a dozen Titanicers 'interested' in Snetterton on 20th August

I do like the look of Silverstone in November too, and then maybe a Trackzone day at Donington at some poiint.

.....so many trackdays......so little time.......

Paul & Tony

Some good ideas there -- got to do Silverstone at least once -- do you mean 30th Nov at £195?.

Never done Snetterton so that is good as well -- who is the organiser? dates?

Donington -- yes, love it. which dates?

So call the dates and get those credit cards out!

Anybody coming along to the Tipec meeting on 28th July (next Wednesday)? I'll be doing another one of those 'Motorsport and Trackdays' presentations. Any tips on how I can make it a little more interesting

I'm hoping to be there - I might even let you have a look at the bits you sold me. [;)]

Re: Boredom:-

Establish exactly how long you are required to present for and plan to do less. Keep it short, keep it light and have hand-out sheets dealing with specifics for anyone that is interested. Do not stand up the front and read out the handouts.

Have big pictures of you going fast/racing, racing results, the magazine articles etc.. It all provides immediate credibility and helps with the inevitable "know all" ellement.

Have visual aides. Have feely'touchy things but don't hand them round during the presentation, they distract peoples attention and encourage them to talk to their mate while you are talking. Hold them up to demonstrate and leave them on the table for people to look at afterwards if they are interested.

Have related interesting and surprising things - a picture of a red hot exhaust manifold? [;)]. I used to blow things up when we did talks on ballistics but that isn't perhaps appropriate in this instance. [:D]

If possible, and subject to length of presentation, have multiple presenters. Adults have a very short attention span and any change helps to extend or restart their attention cycle.

Video yourself doing a presentation (in your lounge) and analys what you are doing and how you come across.

At the end of the day people are there for fun, it is up to you to entertain them.

Kindest regards, 2TA Ltd. I send you the invoice in the post. [;)]

Bloody hell, John. You sound like one of those poncey management consultant types

Well if I do come up on your radar when you next do some blue sky thinking perhaps we should interface.

Paul F - It's Goldtrack that are doing Snetterton on 20th Aug and Silverstone on 30th Nov. One of teh Titanic boys has emailed Melindi for a possible group booking?

Andrew - I should think a few rides in your beast will keep people entertained [8D]
