Hi All

I am traveling from Kent, I am told to avoid Goodwood Race course, any tips on best route, Was thinking of stopping Pease Pottage services for a Morning Coffee.

Cheers Pat ward
https://goo.gl/maps/KPXb2XtsGVu is the route some from 968uk will be following. Personally I would continue down the A285 to just south of Halnaker then turn left onto New Road then left for the entrance to the circuit. It's Glorious Goodwood horse racing week so going near the racecourse means queues - as we found out 2 years ago.

i'm also heading that way from kent, leaving Woodchurch (between Ashford and Tenterden) about 9-9.30, routing M20/26/25/23, not sure whether to leave the M23 at J11 and follow Mike's route or continue down the A23 to the Bolney traffic lights then follow the A272 (a road we know well).

Many of the 968uk mob are early birds and will be at Pease Pottage around 10am, we won't be there until 11ish and do not plan to stop at the services.

Update on the Essex convoy : Brentwood Shell at 8am, to Clacketts Lane services M25 Costa Coffee leaving there at 9.20, Pease Pottage Services A23 for 10am then on to Goodwood.

what time does it all kick off ? im getting there earlyish for a bit of brekkie and also due to Glorious Goodwood being on and Saturday is there big day so traffic wont be nice if you leave it to late

It's a Brighton and Hove Motor Club sprint meet, and starts early - after registration and driver briefing, practice starts at 9 and first sprint runs start once practice is over. It continues for most of the afternoon, so any time after 9 there will be track action. Horse racing doesn't start until at least 11, so the queues from the west will be bad probably from 10 onwards, if arriving later approach from the east!!

Chris,

Thanks, I'll try and be at Pease Pottage for 10.0am. My number is X - can you text me so I have yours?

Thanks,

Oli.

You'll be one of the first then, as the Essex convoy aren't planning to leave Clacketts until 9.20, and I probably won't be passing there until after 10! Oli, you're best contact is Waylander, his mobile number is on his profile on 968uk.

Yes my pal is racing and get there for brekki and miss the horrific horse race traffic from 10am...

Just a quick note - thanks for a great run out to Goodwood.
Nice to meet some like minded individuals Martin, Mike, Jeremy, Pete, Oli & so many others I can't remember.
If you fancy a run out to the Kent coast for fish n chips let me know, i'm sure i can work out some interesting roads with some refreshment stops :ROFLMAO:
