Are we going to do a convoy again this year??? I seem to recall we had some fun last year when "somebody" forgot the way!!!

Anybody interested - post here as usual.

Regards

Dave

Is it the Little Chef at Towcester then?? I'd guess about 9-ish - but that may be a bit late. Suggestions anyone?? I assume Steve is going? Paul looks a definite. Is Towcester OK for you, Glenn and John???

Regards

Dave

Mate, from my place, Macs is going backwards to go forwards if you know what I mean. As the car is on display have to get there a bit earlier so will meet you guys out there if that's OK [;)]

No worries John - I keep forgetting that you live over in that direction!!! I believe I also forget that the Little Chef in Towcester is no more - I guess it's Maccy D's place now at the roundabout.

Form an orderly list below please!!!

Regards

Dave

LOL, no probs buddy.

Only thing is that the roads from here to Walton Hall are some of my faves so will be very difficult not to wind my old girl up a bit on the way over, so the front bumper versus fly score will probably be well up there after we arrive. Must get some of Steve's secret wax before then [8D]

I could meet you in Byfield on the A361 at about 8.30-ish on the day? Basically come up the A5 into Weedon, take a left at Weedon cross, follow the A361 towards Daventry and then stay with the 361 as it heads towards Banbury. Byfield about 6 miles past Dav.

From Byfield we go cross-country to Walton, through Boddington, Fenny Compton, Knightcote, Gaydon and Kineton if you have a map in front of you. Nice drive and no big-time bumpy roads for your car to worry about. Alternatively you could just head for Southam, then follow signs to the M40, cross the motorway at J12/Gaydon and I will pick you up there.

Anyone else wanting to tag along can pick us up on either route and we will cruise over together at moderate speed. I promise no madness through 30-zones [;)]

John,

Sounds good to me, is that near Fawsley Hall ?

If the roads are that bumpy, you'll have to keep off of the Gass, as my GT3
can become a bit 'demanding'[&:]

Could you send me your mobile number on a PM ?

Cheers

G.

Exactomundo - just down from Fawsley. Will PM you my mobile, no worries. Looking forward to a good day out, it's a very laid back event at Walton, just right for July.

See you later buddy [;)]

Fawsley ?? If it wasn't so early you could drop in for coffee and muffins .... that's Fawsley Hall behind those trees ....

cheers, Maurice [;)]

Where are you then neighbour?

Wow, Maurice, lucky you!

We love Fawsley - my architect/surveyor has just been working on a project out there to convert some barns on the estate into 'holiday lets'. My other half is from Preston Capes, she used to play in Fawsley when it was derelict, before Ted bought it and put it back together. Love that place - love the food, love the views, love it love it love it [8D][;)]

One of my favourite pics of my old Jag, outside your neighbour's place Maurice [;)]

Loved that recent ad in the Banbury Guardian for a magnificent house for sale in Fawsley, the agents ran one pic of the lake and gardens from the front door and said 'if you like this you're going to love the house' [8D]

Having discussed the niceties of the Northants countryside I wondered if anybody might like to bring this thread vaguely back "on topic"???

I'm not "getting at" anybody - I don't mind being hijacked from time to time - but I thought I might at least bump it up the queue as it were to see if we can get any interest in a convoy to Walton Hall.

Regards

Dave

Hijack Shmyjack, we have sorted one convoy out already in this thread man (albeit only two cars in it so far and it passes Towcester a bit earlier than you originally requested [8D])

How's about the MacDonalds on the Roundabout adjacent to the A45.?? We can then scoot onto the A509 to get into MK...

Stephen dearest, going to MK from yours to pick up someone who is coming to Daventry from MK sounds a bit long-winded to me unless you are really up for cleaning deceased invertebrates off your car at Walton (though obviously hats off to you if you are, or if you are just mad for road in C5 POR). Why don't you just come up the 45 to M1 and pick him up there, or up the 43 and pick him up at the Porsche roundabout in Towcester, wouldn't that be quicker [;)]

Proper anorak stuff when blokes start arguing about road numbers, eh? [8D]

Dave,

Just saying to Steve D that the car hasn't been out since he took me out for tomato and artichoke pizza (without the cheese) so I will probably be up for a convoy next weekend. Mac D's in Towcestester - what time for us plebs that aren't putting our roadkill on show ? [:)]
