Walton Hall - July 17th

Graham,

The TiPEC show opens at 10, so unless there is any need to get there early (like John and Glenn), I reckon about 9 should be fine.

Regards

Dave

I'll be there at 8.30 for a chocolate and a muffin, can't beat a muffin in the morning eh Mr Moderator ? [:)]

Steve - still waiting for Sunday night pictures to be posted ..

911 contingent of R10 outing to Walton Hall, great day, great weather, nice people. Shame Gary and Andy weren't allowed to park with us...[:D]

Great day, always good good to see you guys [;)]

What's the Darnell mobile doing up with the 'show cars' ?

John - Did he hear that Micheal Aspel was in the vicinty and bring it over to get a valuation 'for insurance purposes only' ? [;)]

Great day out (much better than expected)

John, big thanks for the 'scenic' drive there, even if it was akin to an RAC rally stage[:D], and for helping me polish my alloys[;)] Bet Steve never got that treatment !!![:)]

Was my 1st experience of seeing proper concours cars, and must admit, it looked pretty scary, one hell of a commitment IMHO[8|]

Will certainly put this in diary for next year (if i ever get my chairs back from Darnell !!!!!

Yesterday's AR shennigans were the next logical step in Mr D's progression towards becoming an elderly chap who wanders around in front of the experts at AR-inhabited stately homes with a tesco bag full of ceramic Porsche book ends and wooden racing cars trying to get on telly [8D] LMAO [:D]

A star is born [;)]

No worries buddy, next stop Classics on the Common on July 27, though I think people will struggle to get a pass in for their car now if they've not already applied. You're welcome to hitch a ride if you are up for it though G, sure to be more off-road action on the way there [;)]

Was practising my heel-and-toe'ing on the way home from work, coming on a bit [8D]

Oh my oh my...didn't I tell you yesterday that JG will do anything to get new "recruits" under his spell. Wiping breadcrumbs from their mouth....polishing alloys.....laughing at your jokes... the list is endless.

Believe me Glenn, you'd better get some tissues fast for when he dumps you mate.

[:D][:D][:D]

All in all it wasn't bad. The weather was certainly brilliant - and amazed how it's changed so rapidly today. We were certainly lucky.

I don't know how others with 911s felt but I was a bit miffed that they bundled all the "911s" into the same compound. I had several people I was intent on meeting at a "promised" 964 parking area - only to find that it didn't exist! The 911 section got so overcrowded that many were parked next to the entrance road and you didn't stand a chance of finding anyone.

Still - nice day out. I'll certainly hope for better next year though.

Regards

Dave

It's done the same way every year buddy - you are better off bringing along the various mobile numbers or arranging a meet at a designated time in a designated place. I was quite surprised when you said there was a 964 area to be honest, never heard of that before. Maybe you 964 guys could get one of your number ensconced by the entrance to the Porsche Parking marshal your cars off to a shady spot next year? Just a thought [;)]

1300 Porsches in 2004, wonder how many in '05. The P-cars were still coming in in numbers at 1pm, unbelievable [:)]

Thin ice Mr. Darnell, keep your tissue-purchasing excuses to yourself if you don't mind [8D]

One problem (as discovered a few years ago at Bramham park) is that many owners dont know (or understand) that they drive anything other than a 911 - and some can get a bit shirty if you suggest they do!
"What do you mean - is it a 964? It's a bloody 911 you cheeky #$@...!"

John,

I wouldn't have minded if it had been my imagination, but we DID have 964 parking in both '03 and '04 and I had an e-mail from the organisers to confirm it!!

Never mind - there are bigger things to worry about (like my aircon not working!!)

Mark, yes - I guess I could see that coming!!!

Regards

Dave
