Well, it's goodnight from me......

sad to loose the car Paul..I thought that Cornwall had an active region, I used to be quite jealous of their weekends away near Exeter...

Such sad news ! Paul you have been such a fantastic RS who has done so much to ensure that our little 944 corner of the Club has been such a wonderful place to be over all these years.

I first met Paul waaaayyy back in 2003/4 on the PCGB stand at Earls Court not long after I had bought my first turbo and his friendliness, knowledge and enthusiasm convinced me that my time as 944 owner would be both lengthy and great fun.

So it has proved ! As John S has said far more eloquently than I could its all about the people and the great memories, quite a few of which I have been lucky to be involved with.

Paul you have been superb in your role and more importantly have been and always will be a top man and a friend to both me and latterly Jo too.

You will be sorely missed but please don't vanish altogether !

Paul

Many thanks for everything and good luck for the future.

regards and best wishes

John Stratford - occasional Porsche Post writer for you

Thank you a Paul for everything you've done for the forum and register (Despite not owning a Turbo).

Paul - I echo all the positives stated above and appreciate the sad time it is to say good bye to the car and Club for you.

Wishing you all the best for whatever your future holds, keep in touch (as ‘they’ say) and thanks for all you have done for the Club too!

Hi Paul

Good luck and best wishes for the future Paul.

PS: I still owe you a beer from the previous conference, so maybe our paths will cross in the future.

Kind regards

Andy

R15 is a very active region.[:)] But not a very good shaped one if you live in the far, far west of it......Anyway, Paul is a Register man and not necessarily a Region one[;)] As I have told him privately, he is, and always will be, always more than welcome at our events - member or not.

As my foremost Admin mentor I know he will be sorely missed.

Sorry to hear that but completely understand! (the 944 is pretty handy for traversing the a30 though) A massive thankyou for all the time and effort you have put in over the years, I will buy you several beers next time I am down your way, keep in touch and all the best!

Tony

Sad to see you leaving the fold, Paul. Thanks for all you've done for the 944 community over the years. Don't be a stranger. G.

Sorry to hear this Paul, you can go onwards knowing you did a great Job.

Keep in touch, and if you ever fancy scratching a 944 itch, you are one of the few people in the world I would lend one of my 944's to so you can go for a drive for old times sake.

It was a great surprise to hear from Paul advising the Club that he was stepping down, hopefully we can find some one with the same enthusiasm and dedication to continue the 944 Register-we have a couple of ideas but I would welcome any interested Member who would consider taking on the role. Paul will be missed but I hope to keep in touch. I fully understand his decision. Five years ago when I parted company with my beloved Supersport, it did take me almost two years to by my 944.

Good luck Paul and thank you for your efforts.

Albert Walsh

Register Director

I've always enjoyed the 944 Forum (despite having the faster 924S variant) & Paul's enthusiasm has always been very visible-even admired his earlier 944 in red at RPM some years ago when Nick & I went down there to collect the Red 964 Nick was collecting-I've always felt he was Mr 944 Man-& admire him for his dedication to the club.

All the very best Paul down there in Cornwall.

This is the point (and time of year) where the Board of Directors should consider making Paul an Honorary Member..

During my time as a Director (2000 to 2004 Registers) and 2008 to 2011(various) the protocol was to consider Honorary Membership to a Register Secretary or Regional Organiser after he had served 8 years in that office. Then we would look at what that person had done for the Club and make a decision.

Geoff Ives. Honorary Member.

I agree 100% and would whole heatedly support such a decision. I find it difficult to consider anyone more worthy.

Former Club Director

Hi Paul.

Good luck for the future in what ever you do or drive.

I am sure you will be missed from both Club and the 944 Register.

Good luck.

Cliff & Tracy.

Paul, whilst I have contacted you directly, I would like to express how grateful the Board and the Clubhouse team are for all your support, past, present and future.

Few indeed are the number of people who have devoted so much time, energy, support and enthusiasm to the Club as you have and your passion for the 944 has always been inspirational.

My first Porsche was a 944 (to this day, my wife's favourite) and it was very much thanks to you and this forum that I felt a real sense of community with fellow owners (I remember cheering loudly at the Cotswold Rally as the 944 Register picked up trophies!).

Its not so long since we last met - you offering to help the Club yet again - and I fondly remember our time together manning the gates at Althorp in 2015.

I am genuinely sorry that you have had to make what I know was a difficult decision for you but you have left the 944 Register in great shape.

Thanks very much and I hope you won't remain without a Porsche for too long.

Very best wishes.

Hi Paul,

I'd like to add my thanks to you for all you've done for the register over the years and best wishes for your future endeavours.

Jim

Hi Paul

Very sad to read this, but in my 9 years of 944 ownership you have been a great example of a Register Secretary, volunteer on the forum, Club member, car park director and all round nice guy.

It was always a pleasure to meet you whenever wherever it was and hope we'll meet again.

Wishing you all the best for the next life instalments.

You'll be very much missed.

Cheers

Mike and Sandy
