In an ideal world of winning the lottery what Mod would you make to your 944 - something you might not do otherwise?

I quite fancy a carbon fibre sunroof and wheels.

I'd just go ahead and fit the V8, probably with a custom built transmission. Add in a retrim of the seats in linen leather and a full respray and I might be happy at that.

Full retrim in pukka black leather, maybe GT3 front seats(Ditch rears),alacantra roof lining, dashboard maybe aswell,BBS race type or Techart 18 inch Wheels,Rebuild bottom end,One of those Porsche motorsport Steering wheels with the yellow band to remind you which way the wheels are pointing, carbon bonnet,New roof panel without sunroof,Bareshell respray in A1 black,Maybe a 968 3 peice adjustable rear spoiler, half cage,Cup car strut brace,Ohlins suspension+ ditch torsion bar,Porsche ceramic Six pots and Michelin cups, nice stereo and retro fit cruise control for when i take it on long journeys...[:D]

Isnt this the ideal (cost effective) solution to the other thread thats running at the mo where it appears there is huge expense reinventing Porsche's wheel for uncertain potentially unreliable additional higher power gains?

Bomb proof V8 that (I think) weighs the same as the Porsche unit?

Send both back to the factory for a bare metal restoration and ask for a Weissach rear axle redesigned for the 944.

Money no object but sticking with my current car I think I'd completely refurbish it so it was like new - I'd love to have a 'brand new' '89 turbo

You can go plural but I have left off engine mods as these are likely to happen anyway ;) The CF sunroof and wheels are probably never going to happen - though I would quite like to have a go at composite moulding someday, so that might get me a roof panel,

1. Rip out rear seats
2. Rip out engine and exhaust
3. Fit 993tt engine and box into space vacated by rear seats
4. Design new 944/6 badge

1. Learn to drive it properly.
2. Refresh all the 'white' interior.
3. Pay the wife off so I can keep it for a bit longer!

I would have a bare metal respray, interior retrim with cream leather oh and fix the sunroof to be able to remove again in the summer.[8|][8|]

a more tuneful engine - it's the one thing that really lets the car down

If it has to be Porsche, how about a Carrera GT V10? - or a 917 flat 12 [:D]

Actually I like John's idea. Money no object I'd forget about the 944 and buy a Macca F1, Zonda F or Veyron. In fact money no object I'd buy all of them!

Now this is getting a bit silly isn't it? No boundaries? Well you may address me as UberCommander of the known Universe!...Not falling for it huh?
OK well I'd modify every removeable panel into c/f and while I'm at it widen the arches to accept 10" and 12".
...or do a bullet proof 3.4 16v variocam with a variable vane turbo!
