PP....getting happier every day!

[:)] I confess........IT TOTALLY IS NOT!!
How very dare she......maybe I could teach her a thing about driving......mostly starting with changing her car!!

Seeing you Monday?

PP x

mmmm not happy.....exiting car park today on one of those circular ramps and had two warning lights appear.......

PSM and ABS failure!!

Stopped car and turned engine off. When restarted lights were not illuminated. Went straight to OPC and they did diagnostic check and it said no problem present....

What could have happened and do I need to be worried?

PP .....[]....not as happy as she was....

Hmmmm. There are 3 usual culprits for the PSM/ABS failure message. MAF sensor, an ABS sensor, or the brake light switch. Odd that it didn't store a fault though, especially as you drove it straight to the OPC. The control units have a 'fault shedding' process that will reset themselves after a certain number of driving cycles, so you would have expected the fault to still be recorded.

If it was a MAF failure it would normally happen under heavy acceleration, so as you were braking and turning down the circular ramp, it would point to a brake light switch or ABS sensor. If it is intermittent, then it might take a while to diagnose or recur.

At least you have reported it, so if it does happen again they might take it more seriously.

[:D] Fancy seeing Richard in here [:D]
I'd have gone with a dirty/water ABS sensor- especially as Richard also said so [;)]

Cheers Richard, the cars do certainly share common ground, so pleased to see you here...

Richard thanks very much for your evaluation. Clearly I will be keeping a close eye on the dash !

All under warranty so not too worried and the OPC always look after me well so not too concerned at this stage..

Thanks again Richard
