OK, against all probability (and good sense ?) I have bought a 1992 135K item on eBay. Thanks again to everybody for the good advice.
Now I just need to insure it - anyone got any favourites for limited mileage cheap insurance ?
Congrats. I use RH Specialist Cars for a 5000-mile policy, their adverts are in all the usual places.

The auction ended at 12:55 am Saturday night / Sunday morning, by which time I was planning to be asleep. So I put my bid in at midnight, and found out the next morning that I won the thing by £2.00. How close is that ?
