Whats it Worth?

Ve vill see and I ztart running hard when zis targa appearz. [;)][:D]

Okay and now I am going to stop this "Allo Allo" malarky. Peter, have you now actually put a 4 speeder into it? Is it back on the road?

Bert

Yes Bert its been running well for quite a while now with the four speed box, it has really transformed the car, a lot more fun now, I wish I had six gears! A little more horepower would be fun but I'm not sure the torque converter could handle it even if I had the time to get round to doing it, I'll just have to lose some more weight (from the car [;)])
Click on my sig' link for pics.

I have some numbers for this 2.4. i have a engine number of 6239240, and a vin 9113210705, first reg 30/4/73. nice reg tho AJF911A. and the price as come down to £5295, i tried to get the pics on but it said the pics was to big in size, so i'll email them to you nick. thanks

Thomas has sent me the pics to put here. It has a later rear bumper, spoiler and aches (could be 2.7RS?), 16" rims, LHD SC doors etc. etc. Its a right dog's breakfast!

Call me Tom please. Is it that bad? i never noticed it had the later rear bumper until you said. at what price should i let it go down too? £500, i dont think he's gonna go for it!

Sorry to disagree guys - but I reckon there's hope in there.

Yes, lots of wrong bits - but it's a RHD targa and as long as it's not a rot box - at £5k it's going to be a lot of fun for someone - and an easy way into Classic Porsche ownership.

Sure it'll only win a concours with £50k spent on it - but if it's solid (and the paint implies it's been done reasonably well??) then it's more car per £ than anything else you could buy for £5k.

Just my happeneth.

Philip

The mirrors are SC style flag mirrors, located in the LHD position, i.e. the right one is located further back than the left.

Not read all the posts but for £5k it's a bag of car but what it is , is what you make from it.

Later rear end and wheels older front ..

Well the colour IMHO is pants and I never liked it when they did paint them this colour when they were new.
So if the car wsa solid enough to work on then £2000 paint and a replacement rear bumper and lid would start to make the car into something worth playing with.. Sell the whale tail to some boy racer and your getting some money back

I can say for the cheaper 911's that i have seen in my local area. £5k is gamble money. 90% of the cars are not worth the money due to the long list of fix me's and the 10% remaining are well.... not much better ..

I would say worth a trip out to take a look and see what you have... I think I have a rear lens for a start in the shed with a black edge.. as I see its broken and the PCGB sticker in the window....[&:]

This car was on Ebay a while ago and indeed was discussed on the impact bumper forum..http://www.impactbumpers.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1054&hl=forwarddate
Obviously not many positive comments but that shouldnt prevail you having quite a bit of fun for your bucks.

But the fun starts when you want to sort out the issues. At that point we are probably talking either remortgaging your house, or depending on the size of your house, remortgaging the outbuildings.
There is no such thing as a cheap 911, I'm afraid.....

Good luck,

Bert

Still think if it's not too far to go it;s worth a look..

RHD means in my book rust so just look look look....

If it's been on Evil bay and not sold...... offer £4000 and ( as long as it's worth £4000 ) and then walk away..

As far as i know it still as the 2.4 in her, as for the interior, he said it as a later one in it but i couldnt tell, front engine Porsches is what i'm best at, this will be my first dive into rear engined fun, well apart from my X1/9 but i dont think that counts.
