Whitby run - new date 22nd October

Martin,

We are yet to finalise the details but we should be in Harrogate and a guided tour to Malton would be most welcome!!

Let me come back to you when I am fully sorted.

Incidentaly what time do we need to start from Harrogate?

Peter

Just had a phone call from Mac of Lancs region - they are having a weekend in the North Yorks moors area so hope to join us for the run out and lunch in Whitby - 4 cars already!
Will end up taking over the whole car park with Porsches.

Hi Martin

I think 10.30 would be about right - time for coffee etc. before the run starting about 11.30 a.m. Providing its o.k. by Johnny Wishbone!!!!!

Say hello to the Millau Bridge for us.

Cheers
Rita & John

If traveling from the west (Leeds etc) instead of going down the A64 to Malton there is a nice cross country route that I have always found to be quiet and a nice drive.
Turn off the A64 at the Hull / Bridlington exit, take the road towards Bridlington A166, at the first village Gate Helmsley turn off towards, and pass through Buttercrambe and stay on this road (which does not have a number on my map 'cos it is so small). The road does not go through anymore villages until it reaches Whitewall Corner, bringing you out at the Norton side of Malton.

Hi John and Rita,

Can you put Tom and I down on your list for the Whitby run.

Cheers,
Tracey

HI John I think I have six cars now.David and I are still canvassing our members and we still have a meeting to go so those without e mail will get to know then .We hadn't already planned this ,it was just us two, still all the more reason to come now.[8D]

Hi Martin,
We are now definately staying with my brother-in-law in Sundew Heath in Harrogate. It would be good to connect up with you on the Sunday morning for a scenic run to Malton. What time and where.
Regards,
Peter

Peter I would like to join you on the run up to Malton, don't think I will be able to find the time to go all the way to Whitby. Sundew Heath is only round the courner from us, we are on Ripon road

Sorry you cannot find time to do the Whitby run but are pleased to welcome Darren new member from the North East region.

Just completed test run - map and route on forum shortly - tested Rosedale Chimney 1 in 3 steepest road in England but parking impossible at the top for all Porsches - found a good run anyway with a stop and photoshoot somewhere in the middle of the moors.

Good job parking organised in Whitby - was even busy today with visitors. Lets try and keep together and have a good view of the scenery - some roads on the narrow side.

Regards
John & Rita

John would love to do the full run, but we have recently taken over the Guest house and need to put all our efforts and time into it.

Dave

Helen if you and Larry are looking for a place to stay on sat night, we have a spare room in the dungeon, your welcome to use.
