Why can't I sell my S2 ?

Whoever said BL/Ford parts were cheap needs a reality check ;). AFAIK genuine Porsche wings are £300 each from the dealer. Try £420 for a Heritage item on an MGB or £360 for a repro Steelcraft item (I've seen new old stock Rover wings for them going for £300 on ebay...). On something like a TR6, that price goes up 2 fold again. A Triumph Dolly Sprint rebuilt Dizzy cap cover is £40 (again, around the same as an S2), and the rotor arm is not far behind that either. Capri Wings from what I understand are not cheap either.

I'd say that Porsches are not cheap to run, but not as expensive as some make out when compared to other marks (Anyone seen Jap parts prices? They're enough to make your teeth itch...). Ok to work on they may not be the easiest of things, but again I've seen things on cars that are perceived to be easy to work on to be almost impossible to do.

What i have found is other manufacturers parts are expensive and more negatively they are really hard to get hold of as the car gets older,my pug 205 which was a produced in massive numbers-some parts are not available now or stupidly expensive, fuel pump relay for a pug 90 odd quid....[&:]I recently wanted to replace some wings on our 1983 Celica and when i called the dealer he was practically laughing down the phone- not available anymore. The backup from the factory on Porsches partswise is nothing short of excellent i reckon, and alot of parts (with some exceptions) are not badly priced after club discount at an opc.

Its a once every twenty years item unless you repair it,and at least its still obtainable!

What you really need is a Mk1 Golf with a 225 bhp plus Audi 1.8T engine with decent suspension and brakes and I`d go as far as to say it would be a match for most cars [;)] and easily as quick in a straight line as a 951. There are some with 400 bhp R32 engines out there also [8D][8D]. Look up "Berg Cup" on You Tube for German car porn.

Don't get me started on those bloody f'ing impossible to fix, impossible to tune, impossible to understand 1.8T's!!! I spent £6.5k in 3 months on my supposedly cheap and sensible S3 work horse before the gearbox failed and I decided enough was enough. There's only so much... well I might as well do this as I've already sorted that someone can do to a car before they give up! That damn engine NEVER EVER ran right! Sodding thing. I could have bought a 944T and saved £6000!!!

^^ calming. sorry needed to get that out.

Aftermarket ECU helps and a few other trick bits. There`s loads of info on tuning them and I (personally) have not heard anyone state that before.

I`m not saying you are wrong of course, I`m surprised to hear it thats all.
