I don't think it will be too long before you discover that this was in fact a development "one off" 965 Turbo RS, that Porsche made with the input from Rohrl, Bell, Alzen, Manthey, Donohue and Kremer.
The design brief being to choose the best parts from various Porsche cars and combine them in one incredible package.
The intention to race was put aside as it was simply too fast and there would be no actual competition!
Instead the factory ended up making the Turbo S without the "R" or cage, as the worlds best Golfers had a problem getting their bags past the Matter door bars.
Based on the soon to be discovered heritage, I really wouldn't be surprised if this didn't turn out to be the first €1,000,000.00 964 and the subject of many valuation threads on this forum. []
