windscreen replacement

Cheers Mark, it does help, lots, looks like the expensive option then!! I should have mentioned that my car is a cab so probably even more reason to get it spot on !

A couple of quick comments on windscreen replacement for the Porsche 993...

1) Check that the replacement windscreen includes the radio aerial (visible as a thin line down the centre of the screen) and connector

2) Ensure that the windscreen fitters use the approved "TEFLON TAPE" right around the inside of windscreen seal to avoid any risks of creaking noises

3) Check whether the screen specification includes top tint, depending on your preference

I ended up using Addison Group in Surrey, who also do the work for the local OPCs...

Best of luck!

yep, thanks for that, I am familier with those issues, and I have issued the firm with my vin to ensure the correct item

I've had the screen in an out of my left hooker three times for various reasons over the years but never heard of any issues with the signal booster. Maybe there's never been an issue because it's always been done at a Porsche approved body shop, except the last time but this was still a shop that deals with high end cars.

I have always assumed that the booster must be somewhere behind the glove box but have never found out exactly where. I will have to find out though because the FM decided to stop working a few days ago and I want to illiminate booster problems before I condemn the radio. So if you do find out could you post please?
