Zymol

Does anyone know where you can buy Zymol products these days? Most of the links in my google search were dead including Zymol.co.uk that used to go to sportcarworld who I bought from previously. The only supplier I could find were Maltons and they seem to have a limited supply.

Any ideas appreciated as the warmer weather is coming (I hope) and the new Boxster S needs a proper coat of wax!

Alex

I dont use it because no matter how good it is i wont pay the price for it, extortionate springs to mind []
I like raceglaze carnauba wax
Here is a link though [;)]

i have found at least two adverts in the PP for zymol supplies.(page 46 + 32 Aprils PP)

a lot of the OPCs are also now stocking it.

Thanks for the quick replies.

http://www.scweurope.com/ works fine but www.vertar.com as advertised in PP didn't.

I agree with Elliot that it is extortionately expensive but I've ordered it anyway.

I got some Zymol Cleaner Wax from Halfords. It's not worth the £14 (or so if i remember correctly). Auto Glym Super Resin Polish is much better and so much easier to work with. I've tryed and tested Auto Glym, Zymol, Mer and CarPlan products and Auto Glym always has a better shine, cleans contaminated paint and lasts longer.

The products available in Halfords just don't compare to the Zymol/Swissol type products. Different altogether.
The Zymol cleaner wax is not at all the same as the "real" Zymol waxes (not a polish - a wax).

It's not expensive either - not when a pot of Carbon wax (approx £40) will wax a car a good 30 or 40 times.
The more expensive products still work out as good value in the long run.

Better value if you buy in the US - $100 for the starter kit which is £100 over here. Not bad given the exchange rate is about 1.8.

It was the cleaner wax I bought and thought it was OK.
Also, I'm happy to pay £14.99 just for the smell even if it was no good.
Do they do eau de toilette? as they wax leaves white marks on my clothes.

Zymol can be purchased from Specialist Cars Malton - I have used it for three years - seems expensive to buy but lasts a very long time - the cost works out cheaper than other polishes - once zymoled car washing time is halved - our water is very hard which leaves white marks on dark cars! His e mail is glynn@specialistcarsltd.co.uk - he will dispatch next day.

hi alex, if you take a look within the traders index on the forum and website and look under polish, two companies advertise; incero and zymol. take a look at their websites... www.johnswax.co.uk and www.incero.com. Both companies advertise within PP too.

Pleased not to be the first this time to mention my favourite polish etc. Sophia mentions Incero and I can only fully endorse their products, sold by a Porsche enthusiast. I know he will see this, but I still have to admit that the Wilkins Campbell wax applied over 12 months ago is still very effective. He also supplies the Hydra Flex Blade which speeds up the leathering off process immensely, and makes washing the car a pleasure. [:)][:)][:)]

I have been using the same pot of Zymol for about six or seven years -fantastic stuff, but needs applying two to three times a year.

Once a year I will clay the car and go the full HD cleanse route. Not a difficult job.

I agree with Melv, clay and cleanse once per year, wax once a quarter.

FYI - I received a letter from SCW Europe to inform me that they are transferring their retail sales activities to Vertar from 1st April, so this affects their sales of Zymol.

You can still order over the web, vertar.com. They claim to offer next day delivery.

Since I have bought from SCW Europe before, they will give me £5.95 voucher if I register with vertar during April. Voucher is valid for 30 days against an order over £30.

The existing resources of SCW Europe will transfer to ZDOUK, the exlcusive Authorised Zymol Distributor for all Zymol products in the UK and Eire.
