50th Year national event

For our National Event this September Barry Smith has agreed to, on the Sunday, a 911 Turbo Pride of Ownership Display.

Gary
Just reading back over this post. Please note "Pride of Ownership" is a class in the main concours being run at the 50th Anniversary Event, not the turbo display being organised by Paul Keeling.

Harriet

Harriet, agreed but it is the Turbo display as per Barry's post that the display in question relates too.

For members notice though as pointed out there will be a concours to enter on the Sunday.

I had looked into a specific 997 competition but the majority informed me that taking part in the Friday and Saturday track events would not be a great combination to entering concours.
Were encouraging all those interested in concours to enter the main club event.

0208 875 8684 for the dedicated booking line. Do you not get Porsche Post then Stu? All the details are in the May edition

I know the Register is not the keenest group of polishers, preferring to drive their cars rather than having garage queens. However, some members may have had their cars 'detailed' by a pro, which involves much more than just a 'wash 'n wax'. Paint depths are measured and charted, the car's washed, clayed and machine polished to get rid of the top few microns of clear coat and bring the paint back to life. Known as 'correction' but I always thought that was something far more painful...

No two cars are the same and they take time to find the right combination of polishes and pads to refine the finish. Maybe a demo from a top man could be arranged. Here's one local to the RAC http://www.gleamingkleen.co.uk/ No connection, in fact never used him but good reports on the usual forum.

A vehicle with paint in shockingly bad condition would be needed for the demo. I am of course willing to sacrifice the Cayenne for the day [;)] [;)][;)]

I don't think should be allowed. It would need to be a register car and not some interloper. If needed I guess I might be persuaded to sacrifice mine instead.........[;)][:D]

We'll need to run a screwdriver or two over it first, of course - just to improve the challege so to speak.

Clive.

Been there, someone's done that [:D] Anyway TSCaptain's only needs a wipe down with some white spirit to get the burnt rubber off.

Superb idea Peter [:)]
Some other great ideas bounced about at the weekend and further information coming through from the club.

Looks like we may have a register gazebo/area where we would require 3 cars to be present, 3 cars to represent the register membership- I can offer to show an old and heavily used model [;)]
There does also look as if there will be a demonstration ring too, with plent of offerings to boot [:)]

Keep the ideas coming or we may not get represented [:)]

Hi Gary,

I'm planning to go to CC on the Friday (to spectate with kids) and to RAC on Sunday, to participate in any way possible (have car: can park/display, whatever). As I seem to remember falling asleep whilst reading the feature in PP (or maybe I just dreamt that I did [;)]) could you please let me know what I need to pay and to whom I need to pay it?

TIA!

TIA!

It will cost you just £18 per person for the weekend ticket, to book tickets just call the dedicated ticket line on 0208 875 8684. They will explain all the freebies available to you- or you could offer manpower for a freebie [;)]

Advanced ticket line closes this Friday 19th August

Quite a few of us will be going to the majority of the events throughout the weekend and hope to have a relaxed social day on the Sunday with chance to catch up, plan and chat over a beer of coffee.

Now purchased some weekend tickets. CC trackday is fully booked, but I don't suppose there would be any objection to popping along to watch, would there? Maybe I can blag a ride! [;)]
3.00pm booked at Silvers for the parade lap. No accommodation or dinner booked as yet. Any suggestions?

Regards,

Clive.

Visitors/spectators are being welcomed along on both the Friday and Saturday (and Sunday obviously [:D])
There's a few I know have booked the sessions on Friday, so possibly chance of a blagged ride [:)]

Center Gravity are apparently doing free 30 min visual (no equipment) suspension inspections on the Sat at Cirencester.

I might bring my car up for this and book into the parade lap if possible too.

What time is the parade lap please at Silverstone?

These are several taking place throughout the the day. They'll give you available slots when you book your tickets. Mine's at 15.00 I believe.
