911 992 GTS UK Release Date & Price

It’s probably unlikely but wouldn’t it be nice if Porsche used naturally aspirated engines in all of their 992 GT cars including the long awaited GTS

Can’t see the GTS being £130k thats GT3 money Im more likely to think around the £110k/£115k area ,I’ve put a deposit down on one at my OPC to get on the waiting list,it will all depend on what they value my 991.2. 4S at ,my OPC thinks a launch date will come out this summer.

I’m in the same boat - have a deposit down, expecting some News in the summer

ive got a 991.1 4S where the prices look strong. Put reg into WBAC out of interest yesterday and came back with 61.8k offer!

I’ve just cancelled mine and asked for my holding deposit back - apparently I was front of the queue, so next person in the queue can have my spot. I’m too impatient to wait until 2022 for a Targa GTS (I’ve just lost the initial enthusiasm whilst waiting so long)

Here's an update for you lovely people.

Porsche issued a bulletin to all UK dealers a while back stating an 11 week delay in the launch of the GTS (originally March) due to some engineering and type approval issues. That knocks the launch date into June with deliveries now beginning late Q4 2021.

Build slots are going to be extremely limited so if you're after one I'd get a deposit down now if you haven't done so already.

Kind regards,

Major

The OPC I just bought my 991.2 GTS from said the official release date for the 992 GTS is July 2021.

It should be in the latter part of June, based on the +11 week delay, but an official date hasn't been announced yet so who knows. It has been delayed twice already so hopefully it's 3rd time lucky.

Just joined the club, so hi!

I like my 992 C2S, but it's so quiet!

I've got a deposit down on a C4 GTS based on guidance that the car will be normally aspirated. Given the videos of the test car on the Nurburgring in February sound like its a turbo I remain unconvinced. Expectation on delivery is 'before the end of the year'. As soon as I get some more information I will share.

Where did you get your guidance that the car would be NA my friend ? Not saying it won't be but at this stage nobody outwith Porsche really knows for sure.

In order of likeliness I'd say it will be 3.0 turbo, 3.8 turbo, 4.0 NA but that's just my own personal opinion.

Guidance from the dealership - part of Porsche Retail Group no less, and claiming 'special knowledge'. I've had consistently average to poor sales engagements with Porsche Retail Group, so as I said I'm very sceptical and I agree with your engine assessment. There's plenty of scope in the 3.0 to go to the upper 400's so I'd say that is the path of least resistance.

The GTS is usually a good bet, so putting down a refundable deposit (on the basis its a not a turbo) was a no brainer. I love my 992, but I miss the noise my 991.1 C4S made with the sports exhaust switched on.

Interesting, did they tell you this recently or a while back ?

I'm very close to a source on the 'inside' but they know nothing on the technical specs of the car.

You're right, a refundable deposit is a no brainer. Nothing to lose and everything to gain if it turns out to be running a detuned GT3 motor :)

Interesting to hear some of you already have deposits down.
I spoke to my OPC last week and they stated they hope to have news on the GTS in July but until they have the 992 GTS in the system they cannot take a deposit from me as they have nothing to book it against.

Does this sound right?

I got sick of waiting and cancelled mine and got a refund. Its not a deposit per say, it’s a fee to secure a place in the queue. Most do it that way, that’s why most the slots end up gone on immediately on launch (they were already back filled). Most dealers will take £5k off you and let you secure a slot ahead of release.

Well as suspected it's the 3.0 turbo boosted by 30ps. A quick drive of the configurator to get to the spec of my 2 year old 992 Carrera S took me past £130k. I'm pretty sure I'll get offered rock bottom trade in money come December.

So impossible to justify the money for a small gain when I'm actually really happy with the current car. I've cancelled my slot.

And bought another motorcycle with the deposit. Can't help myself.

yep, I specced one up overnight, apart from the configuration tool randomly adding weird options I didn't choose mine was same - north of £132K... and therefore a very big decision based on a trade in price of the Taycan Turbo. I'm off to the OPC tomorrow so who knows which way I'll go, or even if I have one of these mythical build slots!
