944 Dyno Day Saturday 20th May 2006

Has anyone seen close to 100 ponies wandering around in the Silverstone area - they seem to have escaped from under a certain bonnet and need to be corralled back in there in 3 weeks time...

Just a quick update. We've had a few dropouts this week so I've moved all the relevant reserves up into a confirmed place. See the current list on page one of this post

If anyone else on the list thinks they can't make it PLEASE let me know ASAP so I can let the reserves know.

I'll be issuing instructions and directions for the day itself next week. It's getting close now [:D]

Final Details

Here are the final arrangements and a map.

1. At the entrance to Silverstone the guard will direct you to Weltmeister. It's only about 200 yards from the entrance. Turn right at the first roundabout and Weltmeister is 100 yards on your left.
2. Allan has secured the key to a locked access road just past his unit. We must all park along it so as not to block the other units in the courtyard. It's shaded red on the map.
3. Allan or I will sign you in as you arrive. Please bring ÂŁ30 cash with you
4. Make sure your car has oil, coolant and the tyres are at the correct pressure (they will be checked before the run)
5. The food van has been arranged and will be inside Allans premises all day so please support him by buying lots of tea and grease [:D]
6. Rick will be on hand with his scanner to capture everyones plots as they come off the Dyno
7. The morning slots are all full, after that its first come first served. I anticipate the guys can do 3-4 cars an hour

The full list of names (including early starters) is at the beginning of this thread. See you all from 8:30 am onwards on Sat

Simon Peckham and I will be heaing from the A31(Ringwood 8.30) /M27/A34 meeting Tref at Tot Hill services @ 9.25 for 9.30 departure, then aim for a 5 min stop at the esso on the A43 just North of the M40 (2 or 3 roundabouts up), If you aim for the tot hill meet we should pass on the M3 / A34, Titanium and guards red,
Tony

Tony - I'm almost right on the M3 at Eastleigh J13 so you may just be passing at 9am - I'll see you at Tot Hill if not before. Black Turbo KUI9557

Damn! How difficult can it be to find Silverstone? [;)]

I was thinking of going the night before but it would seem that work will preclude such entertainment. That being the case, is anyone one up for an early convoy from the South East via M25/M1?

Hey all,

I will be heading down mid/late morning to hopefully arrive early afternoon. Anyone else heading that way from the Midlands ? I may go M5/M40 but may go cross-country instead from Worcester heading along the A422 to Banbury.

Cheers

Dave K.

Ohhhh, what got edited? And why?? And, what time are you going to be joining the M1???

And, what's an envelope? [;)]

I need to consult with Mr Cannell as, being data capture man, he will want to be there nice and early.

I am assuming 8:00am at M25/M1, but stand to be corrected.

Hiya Peeps
Looks like a full day for us all ? Can we aim for the 1st car to be inside strapped in for 08-20 with a view to starting at 08-45 ! That way we should get through 4 cars in 1st hour and 5 cars per hour thereafter. Aim to break for 30 mins lunch at 12-30. Hope to be finished at 16-00 if it all goes sweetly !

See you all Sat
