944 dyno day?

Just like I said, twenty minutes per car [:)]. I left at twelve and, got back home to Brighton at 13:45. The T4 was absolutely
storming...!! He flew home [8D]! We had a lovely time today, so nice to put some more faces to names and, see so many tasty
944's (and a very pretty 924)!! Was great to meet up with old friends and, make some new one's. It was particularly good to meet
you at last Ewan, that is a very nice '44 Turbo you have there [8D]! Can't see why you want a re-spray though mate, the paint
work looked fine from where I was standing...? Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves and a very tasty array of cars was on
display [8D]. Thanks for a nice day out Ladies and Gentlemen. Here's hoping that next time I can ditch the T4 and, turn up in my
Porker [:D].

Many thanks for organising this Tref - and good to meet you at last!

So, the rollers of justice clocked me at 273 bhp and 300 torques. That's okay for an old girl. And of course, I kept my boost at a gentlemanly 1.1 bar. Those that upped theirs to 1.3 and 1.4 were clearly cheating and should have points deducted!

While I was there the average score seemed to be about 20 to 30 bhp below "book" figures. To only loose that amount after 20 or more years and six figure mileages must be deemed a success.

I trust no one blew up after I left?!

Pete - I look forward to seeing how the black-beauty fairs after the latest round of JMG mods. Give me a call when it's done.

Just got home after a great time with Dorset and 944 groups.

Thanks to tref.

I believe my Cayman was the most powerful on the day with 239hp on, per Ray West only 50% power (so really 478hp ho ho) and courtesy of Porsche electronics that cut power if the front wheels are not going fast enough!

But he only beat you by 0.1 of a bhp and you did go first to warm the rollers up for us [:D]

Anyone find any of the lost Stuttgart stallions grazing in the fields after we left??

Steve how did your 924 beastie get on? I had to leave early to look for my 30 lost horses and a litre of oil and didn't get to see yours run [:(]

At about 1pm I saw 400+ hp on the rolling road and no turbo required[;)]

Not home yet, but just to say to all, whether you put your car on the rollers, came along to watch, or otherwise contributed, a very big THANK YOU for making it such a great day. For those that couldn't get along, sorry you missed it... Next time eh?[:)]

Best wishes,

Tref.

Thanks Tref, was nice to see Davids car back on the rollers after all this time, a few horses have escaped since last time but we know where some have gone. Was also good to catch up with people I haven't seen for a while or only met online. Definitely the biggest gathering of 944's in 2014. Cayman had a very very flat torque 'curve' and very linear power when held back! Will ask David to scan the plot and mail it to me to post here.

Sorry I could only make it for the pub gathering afterwards, but I enjoyed meeting some new people and the burger was rather good :)

Not sure the Cayman plot will be valid, see my post in the Cayman forum. Good day even though I had to stop twice on the way home as advised by Ray to reset the ECU. Look forward to seeing the plot as I did not get a copy.

Arrived home at 19.00, left home this morning at 06.45 - 312 miles earlier

What a brilliant day, big thanks to Tref for arranging and setting this up, never taken part in a Dyno day before and what a great, if some what nerve racking[:D] experience.

Great to see so many turned up, 37 I counted! Now who is off to the lost horse's garage?? [:)]

The pub food was very good too, another very enjoyable day.

I wish I could have got there earlier to meet some new faces but hey ho great to hear everyone had a good day and was great to see Tref beaming, he loves doing events.

Sorry meant Davids plot of his car! I know yours was being held back, did wonder how fast we could spin the front wheels on yours by hand ;)
