Good to Hear that Paul, we can stop leaning on you and all gang up on Mark now[;)]

Glenn, I am afraid I don't know... what do you think guys? I know Ray reckons he could get 30 cars through in a day, but if you were to say 20 minutes per car... We have six hours worth if all show... My guess is a coupe won't show, but maybe 20 minutes is optimistic..?

Yeah c'mon Mark, don't you want to know if any of your many horses have wandered off over the years [;)]

Tref, If everyone turns up I reckon he'll still be Dyno'ing around 3-4pm

[:)]
Thruxton is MILES away[:D] we can test it with our rear end dynos sometime!
Plus got Saturday jobs to attend to!
Have fun chaps!

Twenty minutes per car is about spot on Tref [;)]. Looks like I will be coming to "stuff my face with burgers" only, a la Mc nutter's! [:D]

Hi Tref- and Pauls S and McN,
Iwould like to give the 944 a decent run if work allows on saturday-is it ok to just have a burger and
a look round the assembled 944"s as i cant make March outing as on holiday.
cheers
Ron

Really sorry guys I'm going to have 2 pull out. Been advised its not ideal with the turbo consuming oil like it is. Today I had trouble starting the car. Been sat for 10 days fire 1st turn off the key then died.

Tried to re turn it over and was getting the belts spinning noise but no engine movement, no rpm bounce. If turned over in gear car would move slightly. Eventually it start, sounded like it was in a slight miss. Then was fine all the way to the exhuast shop. Will be with them for a bit and I won't get time to invesgate the issue. Any ideas?

Pretty gutted will miss another group dyno.

No worries Mark - we tried.

I know you'd hate to be upstaged by all the S2's [;)]

Be nice to see you again Ron, it's been a while

Really looking forward to this. Will be interesting (and nerve wracking !) to see how the read outs for my car on Saturday compare with the one that was done at Chipwizards last year when it was mapped by them.

Also hope that the flooding at the bottom of our road subsides by then to alleviate any danger of my car turning into a submarine !

A question if you please. Is this event actually at Thruxton Circuit or, has Ray West got a unit nearby on an industrial estate?
I will be coming in "Vader" (T4) but, only to shovel burgers into my face [8D][:D]!!!

Just been looking it up:

From the M4
Leave the M4 at Junction 13 and take the A34 Southbound towards Winchester for 21 miles. Exit the A34 at the junction for the A303 and continue westbound towards Andover. Follow the signs to Thruxton circuit 5 miles west of Andover.
From the M3
Leave the M3 at Junction 8 at take the A303 towards Andover. Follow the signs to Thruxton circuit 5 miles west of Andover.
We are located between the entrances of Thruxton Kart Centre and Thruxton Race Circuit.

Car washed, oil checked, coolant topped, fuel brimmed and ready to go early on Saturday. (working all day and torrential rain forecast tomorrow, so I thought I'd get a head start) Looking forward to the day. [;)]

Obviously I'm looking forward to seeing everybodys car, but I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing Steves [:D]

Oh to be so organised!

Rang Ray today to check all is good... which it is with the exception of the burger van[]

There is a café at Thruxton (circuit), so I have booked a day off tomorrow, and will take a look, and see if they can cater for us rabble/make burgers... ok, and see if I can negotiate a deal for us![;)]

One other thing... cards can be accepted for payment, however, for each payment that can be made in cash, there will be a donation to the Dorset Regions preferred charity, the Dorset Air Ambulance - see, so you can argue you only put your car on the rollers for charity!

From the A303 follow the signs to the circuit (not the village), ignore the turning to the industrial estate - West Tuning used to be there, but they aren't any more. Just before you get to the circuit main entrance there is a big shed on the RH side... that is where we are. Hopefully I may be able to add more to that tomorrow.

Me, I'm panicking now, but looking forward to seeing you all there!

Tref.

Gentlefolk,

All good for tomorrow, just been out and made sure we have tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits... I popped in today, Ray is all ready for us, and the café at Thruxton won't give any concessions, but they will do a bacon butty!

As you turn in the road leading to Thruxton circuit (from the A303), after about 100yards is a turning on the right to the industrial estate - ignore that, and after another 100 yards is a big green shed, and it has something like "German Auto Specialist" on it - The West Tuning isn't so obvious, but it is written on there as well. That is the one you want. Another 100 yards ish and you come to the main Thruxton entrance... which is a nice big area to turn around in if you miss the shed first time round.

Oh, if you are one of the first ten PCGB members, could you have your membership card with you please... and if you are just after the first ten, you never know, so bring it anyway. Many thanks, and I'll look forward to seeing you all there.

Tref.

Just my luck. Haven't used the car in a while and the battery has gone flat. Haven't used the booster pack in a while and that's also flat.

Hopefully i can get to you guys by the afternoon. What time are you wrapping things up?

I left at 11:30 and the carpark still had plenty of untested cars so I reckon they will be there until 3 at the very earliest. Doing about 3 cars per hour
