In preparation for our trip to Dinslaken Porsche Show 2015 I finally am getting round to paying some attention to my S2

Today I have fitted a Digital Clock repair screen

About and hour and job done !

btw:- clock was fine last year it "clouded" during the winter months

Managed to get round today to begin fitting my new Bilstein shock upgrade

Removed the old original units and whilst they had OK compression they had very poor rebound

Bilsteins have excellent compression and fast smooth rebound

Just need to finish off tomorrow and fit lower mount bolt

Then move onto sorting out a method of fitting the front inserts to the "crimped" S2 struts

Those fuel lines look a little crusty?

The lines have slight surface corrosion and the ferules are still solid - no deterioration over the last year

ORIGINAL: 944Scott

Are they John Guest fittings on those fuel lines?

Not sure as previous owner had the lines replaced (rather large repair invoice in history file)

Rear shocks all finished

Rear pads removed, calipers cleaned and park brake adjusted

All good

Front brake calipers cleaned and new shims fitted

Just need to sort out the front struts now and all ready for Dinslaken 2015 in Apr/May

Keep an eye on those push fittings as that's not what they are intended for. If they pipes get removed a few times the grips inside the fitting end up scoring the pipework and they end up weeping.

And possibly not even legal to use

Bet your glad the mot man has not spotted it

Thank you for your concerns and here is the Inspection and Fail Criteria for MOT's regarding the fuel system

http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4s07000201.htm

The connectors were fitted in 2006 by Bob Rose and a further leak elsewhere was rectified by Tom Ferguson in 2010

So nearly 10 years have passed since the connectors were fitted so that isnt too bad and 10 MOT's later they are still there LEAK FREE !

As far as the MoT is concerned, you can use cheese straws for fuel lines as long as they don't leak at the time of the test[;)]
