Id hoped for £100 a corner Paul. I called the firm you suggested recently and he quoted 'about £1,200 for the car': I nearly fell off my chair!
Mein Gott!
Things have changed then, when Sportsline at Brackley did mine it was £100 each front strut plus £100 for removal and refitting. The M030 rears were only £85 new at the time - this was 4 years ago. I'm sure someone else on one of our forums (PH, Tipec, 968UK etc) has used them within the last 6 months for a reasonable price [&:]

Id agree that anything over £600 will include remote resevoirs, but who can be sure. I was offered 4x dampers with helpers on the rear for £500-odd plus VAT (for a series one car, but there little practical difference)..

In fairnness to him (he was the proprietor) he was reluctant to under-quote, but even when he realised that I understood the craic and wouldnt attempt to hold him to a lower price, he still didnt think that even a once over would cost less than £150 per corner. You can buy a lot of GAZ for £600: a full on trackday set with rear helpers for my series one / 924S, in fact.

Together with my new clutch which is currently being installed my ride should be remarkably transformed for the better. Can't wait to drive it!

I based my purchase on road use with occasional track day.
It cost me £500 plus vat.

I have the koni inserts on mine, did them last year. Very easy to do,
1. drill small hole in bottom of leg to release pressure
2. use hacksaw to cut strut just below the top.
3. enlarge the hole already drilled to 14mm.
4. insert new damper into the strut.
5. use 14mm bolt to draw the insert all the way home into the strut.
6. paint finnished unit with plasticote( i chose yellow) and you have a good as new strut that is far better than before, better than the M030 I'm told?
Add to this new koni adjustable rears and the cars as good as new

Hi Simon, I don't have part numbers I'm afraid. I ordered 4 complete fully adjustable shocks, these are ride height and damping rate adjustable, 2 x 300lb springs for the front plus the brackets to fit them. I didn't go for the rear "helper" springs. I don't know what range they are from either. They will be in an aluminum finish and come with a 2 year warranty.

Not to worry; I appreciate your reply. When I first spoke to GAZ (a couple of years ago) they quoted me £350 for 'fast road' shocks for my 924S and £500 for 'full-on trackday' shocks, with helpers, for my series one 944 (both plus VAT). I havent spoken to them since, but every catalogue and reference from them seems to contradict the other, as well as the prices and specs that I already have.
I now have a series two car for every day and the 924S will be extreme, so Im pleased to hear that suitable dampers for it can be purchased for sensible money. I wonder if I can get them to quote me £500 for 'full-on' dampers for the 924S now?
When are you having them fitted?

Group buy!
I'd be interested if they turn out to be a good option.

All the folk on here seem to be paying £150 + to get 4 wheel alignment done. I only pay £45 for mine at a company called Progrip in Bonnybridge. People come from all over to get various cars done, do a google search for some feedback. Car is usually on the ramp for well over an hour, bargain in my book!
Alasdair
Is that just the tracking done or the castor and camber also tackled at the same time?
