964 RS Touring

Paul I know you're winding me up if I thought for a second you were being serious...............

Oh I recall Leyland only sold 16 of their special edition Austin Allegro "St Tropez" this was a massive disapointment to the management as they had given it great emphasise to the discerning Club Driver with heated rear window, Rostyle Wheels, Colour Coded Bodystrip, Rear Speakers, Webasto Sunroof and Rev Counter..............At least they left out the UMBRELLA HOLDER...ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha [:D]

Des, I fully understand the concept of lightweight race materials and porsche charging less for more, ie 964 C2 and 964 RS, however this is not the case with the RS touring is it ?
It has the same engine (ok a different clutch / flywheel), same suspension, brakes, gearbox, the whole shooting match, but with different seats, underseal, and a bit of soundproofing.

You still havent answered my question, why are they so undervalued for a car they only built 6 of ? .......... your answer was no one wants them.

Unless Im missing something its like comparing the GT3 clubsport and comfort models, then saying the comfort is no good.

I assume you think the clubsport GT3 is rubbish cos they only made 15 RHD of them, must be because no one wants them eh ?

Also since when did we prefer LHD , we have been here before and agreed the only reason you dont have RHD is because the LHD cars were good value at 20k and the RHD cars were a lot more money and out of a lot of peoples price range.

I have got air con, and some nice music, however living in Kent not Essex there are not to many M3's to burn off .........

Either way the same driver in a GT3 will always put in quicker lap times the car is just so much better, still if your happy with just 260 bhp so be it, as they say you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink it !!! [:D]

Anyway the touring sounds to cheap to me [:D]

Paul you are obviously obsessed with size........it's not what you got but how you use it honey.......But 4 your info most 64RS run about 300BHP as the car was delivered with a fairly detuned unit, but possibly hard for you to comprehend the whole ethos of the LEICHTBAU.....this was a true ClubMan Car to be fettled with with adjustable suspension set up etc all could be done by the owner.....as opposed to going to Parr and spending 10K to get it right.......the 64RS did what it said on the tin

RS = RennSport translates Motor Sport

GT = Gran Tourismo translates BIG CRUISER

Oh back to big again.....

Ah, so this is where you are meine Kleineuntergruppenfuhrer!! Keep up the good work.

And many thanks for the oppurtunity to drive your car on Cotswold highways and byways, with a bit of motorway thrown in at the end -I'd forgotten what a superb car the 964RS is to drive on smooth (and not so smooth roads) -goes, doesn't it!![;)]

Get back in your tricked up 996 stick on the aircon turn up the MP3 and chill out honey....go and find a BMW M3 to burn off........

Here Des, I managed to pick up a set of rear 996 speakers to go in the back of the GT3, fitted them today, sounds great !!!
All I need to do now is hook out that soppy roll cage and get my bass box fitted ............. Nice one man ![:D]

Yes but you were only at 6/10th on the road.....awesome ask a disillusioned 997C2S driver!...........

What is there not to understand???

Carreraboy does confuse me with opinions on power to weight....only last week while offering my genuine comiserations to the owner of a 3.2 Carrera supersport Targa,,, Des was most insistentent on correcting me that they were actually a fantastic car especially as they ran turbo running gear....confused? double standards? ulterior motive?? [8|]

Having sold my 993RS I am on the hunt for my next car...most likely another 93Rs, I may buy a 964RS if I can find a good one in an interesting colour...This is the first time in 12 years I have been without a 911, so hopefully I will be back behind the wheel soon.

So as I have been so candid, tell us about your 964 RS...how long have you had it, colour, mods? do you do many track days in it?
I don't recall seeing a carreragirl on track in a 64Rs over the last few years.

You know what it is like carreragirl, mostly blokes on here on these forums, so when a genuine female owner of an interesting Porsche such as yours starts to post we are always interested! Do you know many of the other guys on here from previous events??? [;)]

CG -you are so cruel......[:D]

Since you posted a pic of your cat (presumably yours) Clubbiesportyboy seems to have gone to ground.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Maybe the thought of your RSR was too much for him to handle possbility of a massive woodattack think you should have left out the bonnet stickers!

PS. Was going to post a pic of my Dog......

Hi Kieron,

Have a 964 RS Touring based in Windsor if you are interested in the car, it is Midnight Blue. No1 of 7 produced for the UK market.
Can send pics if you wish.
