964 Trackday 2011 (group booking) GREAT day out!

I'm as ready as possible. Couldn't change the brake fluid as the bleed nipples are seized on the rears. So when I have a couple of weeks free, I'll renew seals on the rears and then do it. Looking forward to Silverstone the day before so might be a bit tired by the time Sun comes along. That'll be my excuse for slow lap times. David

Forecast at lunchtime today made Sunday look quite promising weather-wise. Obviously a bit far ahead to take too much notice of...... Covered arms/legs is always stressed and looked out for at trackdays I've been to. If you think you are going to be hot, try competing in a mid summer stage rally (or race I guess) while kitted out in fire proof underwear, triple layer nomex suit, balaclava, nomex gloves and a crash helmet....and no you can't have the window open more than an inch or so! What's people opinion on race suits at trackdays? I always used to wear mine but as time as gone on, I see less people in them. Makes sense to me as doing a sprint or trackday in your road car poses exactly the same hazards - if anything sprint is less risky due to solo nature.

Plenty of track dayers have them. If you've got one it's silly not to use it [:)] BTW I don't have one so have to make do with my 964RS 20 Jahre long sleeved shirt [:D]

My warm-up at Castle Combe a couple of weeks back...........it was a parade lap hence lack of helmet and the obviously slow speed!

Thanks Steve................very enjoyable day out. Great track and just about perfect weather. Car behaved faultlessly all day - apart from not always going exactly where I wanted it to!

Great to meet you Ade and I trust your good lady enjoyed the day too. By chance, one of the pics I get from Bookatrack catches us both out on track at the same time (at Mcleans) [:)]

You too Steve....... Sue enjoyed the day - far more civilized than a rally service area. She was even happy to come out for a second time in the afternoon. I did take it easy running at 10 secs per lap slower for all bar the last one. Sick flying about in the rally car I can just about cope with, in the 911, no thank you!

A short video from mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bi_vdMPKm8 and a longer video from Ian's Alpina B3 which features quite a few of the 964s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-aSYUPUQyA

Really nice video diary of the day has just been uploaded by Frank, one of the 964 owners: [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y0zXw3xWxw]Porsche and Boxa.net Video Diary[/link] and here's some of my pics [:)]
