Hello,

I am currently looking for a 964T (3.3L) and while I have a few to look at, I thought I would post on here just in case anyone knows a car that isnt well advertised (I havent found any advertised outside of PH).

I have already had loads of great advice from people like Dave about the 964, and am moving to the 964T from my 996C2 cabrio. Thanks for any help, Josh

Welcome to the world of air-cooled bud :) Have you tried the good old Autotrader? Thanks Chris, both of those are also on PH which seems to have the most up for sale. I have been trying to view the tahoe blue one for 6 weeks now and the seller isnt falling over himself to do a viewing, which is frustrating.

I can understand that bud, beacuse it looks gorgeous. Must be hard when you are looking to buy and he simply isnt keen to sell. Something odd there... Chris

You could have a look at this, its for sale qite a while :http://www.carzone.ie/search/Porsche/911/3.3-Turb/200926194429422/advert?channel=CARS

The red one has been on Pistonheads for a good while in a private sale at about £26k, think they`re selling on the owners behalf now so am sure a deal could be done (directly!) cheers Tony[;)]

Thanks for the replies guys. 1) Red Irish car - my ideal spec but the Euro/GBP rate puts it out of my budget. 2) Ruby Red car - good private price & miles. Guards Red is my favoured choice but I'm not sure if this "Candy apple red" is okay for me, or what it would be like to resell. Mind you, the colour looks different in the private advert compared to the dealer advert, so maybe it does need to be seen in the flesh. I am also not after a 'pimped' car and with the ruby red, black glass and BBS wheels this looks gangster. I'm seeing this car [link=http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1139496.htm]http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1139496.htm[/link] tomorrow. Its overpriced for the miles, but its got the 'Bad Boys' spec (black on black, no cup holders) and its had engine work by JZM. I'm hoping to finally see this car [link=http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/919711.htm]http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/919711.htm[/link] next week. I found out its on sale or return, which had been delaying things. Thanks for the help guys - these are rare cars and I'm not helping myself by ruling out Black, silver and midnight blue. Fingers crossed for the ruby red, black or tahoe car. Josh

I noticed last night that in the latest issue of 911 & PW Magazine that there ia a Guards Red 964 turbo 3.3 going for low £20k. High miles (150 odd), but looks good for the cash. Not sure on exact details, but im sure someone has their copy handy? You may have looked at it already though. Chris

I havent seen that car (dont get the mag, so my search is mostly limited to internet advertised cars). If anyone does have details of that car I would be interested. Thanks again.

I was offered this car by the PO for a lot less then what the dealer is asking (around £8K from memory). I would have bought it too if I hadn't already bought the Celebration.

Interesting. The dealer tells me it belonged to a friend of Jonas's from JZM, hence why all the work was done at JZM. It is overpriced given its miles, but I need to have a look just to make sure I dont want Black on Black (I'm after red or something befitting the end of the yuppy era, eg Tahoe Blue)

ORIGINAL: street935 Made a few calls to friends in the trade this morning and was told that 25K£ would buy the red turbo in Dublin.
Very interested. Have sent you an email via the site. Let me know if it doesnt arrive. Josh

Sorry if you have already looked but what about the guards red turbo on pistonheads at £33k only done 33,000 miles. Think its been on for a while. cheers

"I'm not helping myself by ruling out Black, silver and midnight blue. " You ain't kidding. these are probably amongst the best colours for this car! So, if you saw an A1 car in the above scheme, you'd buy a lesser example in your preferred colour? Be careful, these cars can eat money (from one who knows). PS: the 2 midnight blue 3.3 cars on Pistonheads are very good examples, I met both owners and know the love that went into them. PPS: For 965 knowledge get yourself across to rennlist.com, they have a 964turbo specific site.

Black is best as far as I'm concerned. Each to his own I suppose. What is it with the interior on the black/black one at Eclectic Cars? Was that centre console an option or something that someone has added later? Also why has it got airbags if it's a '91 car? Have they been added later or was the car built for a different country? Duncan

Almost entirely agree with you Duncan....but Green is/was good! No seriously, any 964T has to be right up there on any PORSCHEFILE'S perfect garage, my personal preference would be the 3.6 parked right next to a red RS and all white RSR. I know where they are and I am a very patient buyer !!

Thanks for all the replies guys. re: the black car at eclectic. JZM have turned it into 964T 3.3S spec. according to the dealer (who I think is the Turbo register secretary? John?). So a few mods to the turbo and engine and suspension etc. The centre console was modified to fit a stereo in it. If you are like me (6'2", 100kg, size 12 feet) that has to come out straight away - the offset isnt easy as it is but with that thing there its ridiculous! re: me not wanting silver or dark blue. I would happily have a black on black car (Bad Boys spec), but having had a silver 996 I want something a bit different. I also want a colour befitting the era - yuppy (guards) red or electric (tahoe) blue springs to mind! I know its a personal choice and that black/silver/blue might be easier at resale, but for now I want something a bit different (like the car itself). Oh, and I wouldnt buy a red car in bad condition over a black car in better condition.

I was pretty sure that this car was owned by a guy from Bristol up until this month - I've met him and the car, although it looks like it has £1k of new one-piece replica Veloce wheels and another £7k on the price! IIRC it was delivered in RHD to a German-based UK Army officer and therefore had the Euro spec. including twin airbags - as such it is probably unique for a RHD 3.3 turbo. Again IIRC it has a hybrid turbo, 964 camshafts and full Hayward and Scott exhaust system. The work was done prior to the last guy who owned it.
