964s for sale

ORIGINAL: Barty964rst Guy's have a friend who is looking for a C2, Coupe Man or Tip considered. After viewing a few horror stories, a well maintained car is his main concern. Any pointers? Thanks
Simon, did the 'undocumented rebuild one' not work out? Gary (K90) has a coupe tip for sale: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2803014.htm

Thanks Steve, the car has a list of faults that GT One found (they are so thorough). It's a 20 year old car after all, it is priced at the bottom end - so you would expect to have a project. I personally, would move on and look elsewhere as there are cherished 964's a plenty, if you are patient. Will look at the one you highlighted, many thanks.

A bit of a concern that the price has been reduced for what looks like a nice car. Presumably the Tiptronic puts people off?

Good luck with the Sale, I think Stewart is interested and will contact you to view. Fingers crossed for you both.

ORIGINAL: K90 price reduced to match the market.... nothing more sinister than that really... I started close to but under the very recent PCGB valuation, however nobody, well only one person, has come to look at it. So i have slowly reduced it. I don't want to sell but lost my job (public sector) and my family need to eat!! If I find a new job before it goes I wont be selling because IMHO its a lovely car. Steve, thanks for the push....
Sorry, I wasn't commenting on the condition of the car. The state of the market was exactly my point tbh!

Anyone looking for a nice original totally unmolested 964 might like to look on the eporsch website. A very eligible C4 in Baltic blue with just 26,000 miles on the clock. At least two other 964 C2 on there worth a look as well.

I had one of the 964's at eporsche inspected by GT One. There was a list of issues with the car, the rebuild which had 'just been done' had no documentation and eporsche were not keen to disclose who did the work. I decided it wasn't for me. The C4 is very original, I recall it still had porsche plastic delivery bags from the toolkit (which was complete btw)

Gaz,I know how you feel--we sold ours to help fund lawyers' fees for the court case I have been running since 2006 & in which I was overwhelmingly successful 3 weeks ago.The guy hasn't paid up yet-is faced with a total bill for £330K & I am hoping when he does, to rejoin the 964/993 community-although 996TT 's are inviting!

Forget 911s of any variant - if you get all that back you can have Carrera GT!! Glad you won Colin, hope the b*****d pays up. [edited to tone down the swear word which is against forum rules, regards Steve]

ORIGINAL: K90 All comes to him who waits! Well in your case..... hope its true for me to! I doubt i will ever be able to find the lump sum to buy another though....
I really feel for you mate. When I was out of work for 14 months up to September last year, on more than one occasion I considered selling my car, but as you say, if I had it would be very unlikely that I would ever be in a position to replace it. I was really lucky to be able to hold on to mine, running it on a shoestring, driving it very sparingly & putting off essential body repairs etc (it's having some desperately needed restoration work done as we speak). I hope you do get another 964 one day, but in the mean time there is a lot of fun to be had at the cheaper end of the Porsche market...[:)]

I always thought that word was a normal good word to describe a child born out of wedlock who never knew his father-not a swear word at all.[8|] I agree,Colin, lot of fun at the bottom end.

I agree Colin but it's still against the forum rules (3.1.6 - 'may be considered vulgar' ). I don't make them up, it just falls upon me to enforce them [;)]

Apologies Steve. I thought there was a swear filter to tone it down and figured young Colin would have been able to fill in the blanks!
