964s for sale

Hi guys-new to the club so finding my feet. I live in France and i am looking for a tidy 964. Obviously a lhd would be ideal down here but don't mind rhd (my daily drivers are rhd). Budget 10-£15k. I have seen a car which seems interesting but there are a few things which are niggling in the back of my mind. The dealer (who seems to have owned the car since 2008!) has had lots of work done over the last couple of years including, replacement tip auto box, engine rebuild at Zentrum (?) just over a year ago. Like everyone i suppose i would like to realise my lifelong dream of owning a Porsche but nervous about getting into a mess. The one i have seen has done 250000kms. which is more than i would like but they have spent over £10k "sorting the car". Any thoughts or other cars known to be for sale much appreciated. Moved to France for the weather and its raining! Thanks Peter

Interesting one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stunning-Porsche-911-964-15000-miles-new-Tiptronic-sunroof-investment-/180863211082?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a1c49964a#ht_1727wt_1185

Hi Colin thanks for your post. Yes i had spotted that one but i fear it is going to stretch my budget. The search goes on....

The ad states: Not sure if any service history is documented??? "It has had far more care than most cars, possibly"!!!!! I doubt that the specification is "high" as stated, most 964's have the extras that are on this car apart from sports seats it no air-con for starters. It looks as if the air vent for the distributors has not been installed. It appears to me to be a very unprofessional ad considering they are auctioning on behalf of a wealthy client. Definately needs a full inspection.

Amanda are you still looking, could be a possibility? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-Porsche-911-964-3-6-litre-Carrera-4-coupe-/320911107235?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4ab7cae4a3#ht_788wt_1185

Yes still looking, although I may have a car in mind (via a club member). Haven't been to look yet, but will be in a week or so. I saw that C4 listed previously on ebay.

Well having taken the plunge and asked Steve non stop question about C2's over on the PH forums I guess when I get all the details I'll have to register my new purchase with the 964 Mob!! Needless to say ill be asking a ton of questions on the 964 forum as I have been on the PH one. I figure I'll have some fun with this for a while and sorted C2's are proving tricky to find.
