hello there all. have just agreed a deal on a 54 reg 997s in artic with black leather and cant wait to take delivery. 11 years ago i had a 1989 911 turbo targa for a year and loved it. from recollection it was around 300bhp and wondered if any of u 997s owners can tell me before i take delivery of the power differences i can expect to experience......god its good to be a 911 owner again [:)]

Welcome back to the fold David [:D]
I don't think its just the power, its got alot to do with the sublime handling the 911 now offers.. along with the power [;)]

tks gary. i shud have the car in a few weeks as the opc at sutton coldfield have agreed to house it for me till my garage is finished at my house. i managed to by the car after it had been reduced by 2k on the website and having haggled unsuccessfully with my local dealer. the one i have has sat nav, bose surround, sunroof but no cruise control or heated sets, neither of which i can envisage using anyway which is why i went for it. it has 13k miles from new with 2 previous owners on a 54 plate. whats the best things to use to keep the exterior and interior in tip top condition?

Keeping it looking good, plenty of personal opinions but a heavy dose of Zymol or Swisswax (which the club has a deal on) seems to be the preferred choice.
Possibly a detailer to give it the once over whilst still at the dealers may be the way forward.

The Concours area in the forum may also offer some additional advice, they know alot more than myself about polishing []

i would go for 4 coats of zymol asap as gary says-preferably by a detailer cos its bloody hard work to put 4 coats on[:D]
that will keep it nice and shiny with top ups every 2-3 months with a coat of zymol

great info tks. any idea the main agent wud charge to do this before delivery???

About 4 times as much as you booking the very same guys yourself [:'(]
Detailer would be in the region of £200-£300, so not cheap... but you are paying for a skill that neither I or the OPC have.

I can't think of one off the top of my head, but will take a look.
That or come along to the West Midlands regional meeting and ask the locals who they use.

tks guys. may have to ask the salesman at sutton coldfield if he wud get his chaps to give it a zymol before i pick it up free of charge! either that or stick my back into it when i get the car home. i take it its no more than serious elbow grease and a bit dull..........

elbow, shoulder back and other muscles i never dreamt of-one coat was enough for me!!4 coats definately for the detail boys[:D]

I have been offered £49k (dealer) for my 54 plate C2S @ 21K miles so if you can get one for £50k I would take it?
