997 Turbo

or would a GTS model be better option
Nope!
Go drive one and you will see why...[:)] (The GTS is great but.....)

Very low mileage example with a good spec and looks almost as nice as a red one....[;)] Strange it's had 3 owners in 12k miles though...
Not everybody wants a Turbo though..... [:)] Sure, a Turbo is quick in a straight line but it doesn't sound as nice as a NA engine IMO.

must say this is stunning http://www.safwatcars.co.uk/car/2012-porsche-911-gts-3-8-pdk-/1332/
except i dont like to much carbon

Or that much red ?[:D]

I think it is a reasonable price for that model and spec.

On your point on ownership, I have a 2010 turbo and am the fourth keeper. PC Leicester told me it was quite normal to see a lot of owners on the turbos. Probably the prohibitive running costs!! (Don't tell my wife I said that....[:)])

It is four years old so due a major service, irrespective of mileage.

Make sure that this is done, or ask for ÂŁ2k off the price, as that is what it will set you back.....

Fear not, it might not have been meant for you [;)]

I've been through some pictures and its seems that Meteor is infact the quickest colour in the Porsche range...[8D]

We should rename this forum 997 Turbo only these days [:)]

I think Alan was posting his personal views and not in an official capacity.

We are consistently singing the praises of Carrera and GTS in our Register. [;)]

And there's a clue on thread content in the title.

Regards,

Clive.

Going from a 997 C2S Cab with PSE to the Turbo, I can say I really miss the sound. It was the biggest disappointment of changing, or should I say only disappointment. Trying to sort that soon with an aftermarket exhaust from Kline Innovation.

I think that from 996 and 997 the only complaint I've ever read about the Turbo is the sound of the car- but from the drivers viewpoint.
The cars do actually make quite a great sound from the outside!
True not like anything Italian but very much like a jet passing by[8D]
