another Alzen cup one for sale?

Yes Hans. From the 6 originally manufactured only 12 remain. [:D]

Is this the same Alzen that was for sale on page 2 of this thread or another?

Are there now officially more Alzen Cup cars than there ever were actual total Cup cars??[&:]

From the photographs this car is clearly a '93 Supercup with a '91 Cup chassis number removed from another car and riveted on.

What we see is the paperwork and the VIN - the papers are from a car that belonged to J. Alzen and was then owned (and obv. modified) by Schleifer GmbH in Günzburg. What´s behind the papers and the VIN plate?
You never know with these often more than once modified mongrels. That doesn´t mean they are bad cars, but it´ll be hard to tell what they really are.

The details in the Wagenpaß would be interesting - where was that chassisno. raced and who was at the wheel? And maybe this is the car from 91, maybe it has nothing to do with it. How many with that VIN are out there?

If provenance is a point, this seems to be the wrong car. If sheer driving fun is the point, you´ll need a specialist to judge, if this one is a parts bin bitza or a decent track day machine.

BTW, the dealer has a good reputation AFAIK.

Rgds,

Hacki

P.S.: Maybe Martin knows more.

My single handed quest has met with some resistance, but with a good man in my camp, I now feel I have closure as to my real parents, with a modified birth certificate. Yes closure for me. And dare I say a Happy Ending. I have nothing to prove now to anyone the story is complete.

Is that a service now offered by the Modified Register? [;)]

So then Des is the yellow car now up for sale at GT Classics.....or are you still converting it back to the Cup car????

Is this the end of the story with this car?

Will we ever find out what the final pieces of the puzzle were, what the 'sensitive' information was and where the shell number was actually located? [8|]

So we can settle down to an Alzenless future , carpets back in fashion , modifications out , perhaps trackdays in ??

It has taken how many years for Des to go from a white RS to a blue RS ??? Tie break on years and months

The winner can have passenger laps at Oulton or Spa in my Orange Carrera......feeling confident [;)]

It was quite a journey - mint, blue, the Ãœberboy, Easy Jet, a Turbo Intermezzo, the (not) endless Alzen Story, and blue again, maybe I forgot some. Great Porsche life and Club enrichment, Des. And there´s more - camper, squirrels, Bar 57, tbc...

Rich, you´re out.

Owned about 35 cars now, one 944 and rest 911 all air cooled except for a MK1 GT3 996. The 964RS have been three carpets a N-GT and a M700 CUP all be it modified by you know who, now for sale. I have just bought another Carpet, this has been over the last 15 years. Simply I just keep coming back to the 964RS as it encompass's everything about the car penned by Butzi Porsche back in 1963 and the whole philosophy of his Father.

As I have always said the 911 was NOT meant to be a SUPERCAR which it now is, but a nimble, light, uncomplicated, simple, well made, Clubman Racer, take the car to the, Office, Golf Club, Track and home. The 964RS is to me the final evolution and pinnacle of 911 development as we knew it, the most rewarding, sporting, frugal and fun Porsche, that simple.
