Am I expecting too much..??

Hi Bronco,
There's a red 3.2 on Paul Stephens website, may be worth a look although its red metallic and a bit over your budget.
Having said that I don't think they deal in crap
911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Coupe
1986, Kiln Red Metallic with Burgundy half leather interior, electric sunroof, mirrors and windows, 16" colour coded Fuchs alloy wheels, 103,000 miles with Full Porsche Service History.
£ 13995

I think that car has been for sale since I was looking for a Carrera in September 2004. Its come down in price from around 18k (I think - it was way over my budget) since then.

Hi Bronco,
If you're still looking for a nice 3.2 try giving Chris Sanderson
at Loe Bank Motors, Edenfield, near Rochdale a call. He is a independent Porsche specialist whom I've dealt with for a couple of years, very good, Porsche apprentice of the year etc.
His friend had one for sale a few months ago, '89 3.2, Chris told me it was in excelent condition, he'd done a bit of work on the car and he new it well and it was going for around £10.000. His number is 01706-826060 mobile 07973-839635.

You should also really consider LHD, I paid £8.500 for my '88 US spec. Cabriolet 3 years ago (took me 6 months to find one) 65.000 miles, no rust, absolutely great car, I know I got it cheap because the guy was emigrating to Cyprus and he had to let it go but some of the prices quoted on the forum seem a bit silly to me and I know there are a lot of £13.000 to £15.000 car sat around unsold.
Good luck with your hunt, don't give up the LHD thing is no problem and great when abroad.
Cheers Jon.

Hi Bronco,

did you ever go and see this car?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/51767.htm

It looks lovely, but with no history at all and a whole new interior, well, I tend to just assume the worse.

Who is Ed Doherty in Brighouse and what was his car that you said was over your budget? Is it worth me having a look at it?

Hi all.

Burriana, Ed Doherty had a nice Black 3.2 for sale at £14500. just spoke to him and its been sold. The Black car on pistonheads is dodgy IMHO.( and my very experienced Dads eyes), Full and recent very poor respray, poor panel fit ( bonnet ) and evidence of a front end shunt.. No service history to back up mileage. I would have recommended you see Ed's in Brighouse, but please don't waste your time and effort travelling to Wolverhampton.... you will be dissapointed.
(( Thought you were looking for a White one...?? ))

That sounds like a really one sided appraisal, but you have been warned.!!!

Alll the best for the holidays.

oh bollx - that was within my budget - sod's law!

Thanks for ringing him anyway.

I thought that other black one might have needed a very careful inspection. It's the no history and brand new interior that started alarm bells.

And yes, white is preferred, but I can't find one! Then black, then red... presuming no-one comes up with a lemon yellow, lime green or bright orange that is [:D]

Bronco, if you want a 911 you are going to have to pay for one.

I had to increase my budget by 50% to get a 911 that I was happy with.
FSH, lots of MOT's and receipts. Even had the original gloves if the spare wheel had to be fitted.

Even a brand new car isn't perfect, I can always find fault if I look hard enough.

So I think yes, you are asking too much when you only want to give so little.

David - I've emailed you aswell but it may be too late, this LHD SC looks really nice, just brought in from Japan. Due to end in the next few hours. If it was either RHD, or had less miles on I would have bid on it.
