Another Cayman

Yep, you'll be fine at 98db from the exhaust for sure.
I agree about the earplugs though, although a helmet does help. A full day on track could be uncomfortable if you have sensitive ears.
Static is one thing, drive by another. Loudest days are 105dB static and 101dB drive by. My old 3.8L Cayman was 97dB - 101dB static but often 102dB drive by at Goodwood. I kept tripping the noise meter between Madgewick and Fordwater so stopped doing Goodwood days until I had a quieter OPF GT4.
Noise Management in West Sussex | Goodwood Motor Circuit
Bank holiday Monday afternoon back up to Silverstone staying at the circuit’s Hilton. Held for almost an hour in Swindon as a result of an accident? Fire, Police and Ambulances in abundance. At Silverstone there was no signage to the hotel and as I arrived after 19:30 the normal and satnav access gate was closed so had to go to the main gate to wake up security to get directions.
Tuesday morning I visited Silverstone Centre to see the launch spec SRS they have for sale, primarily to view the Neodyme wheels but also to chat GT4 values with their buyer. Tuesday afternoon at PEC in Spyder, and again no signage (to PEC).
I drove the pink SRS and with the bimini and rear window in place. Had a good 45 mins drive Dadford Road, Stowe thru to A43 and back. Very firm ride with road out from Stowe quite ‘interesting’. The intake noise is quite something over ‘n’ revs but cruising circa legal limit on A43 it was quite OK save for the odd yobbo moment for testing purposes. On the mickey mouse PEC track it handled well as one would expect although it did enthusiastically follow the camber on heavy braking - a car set up point no doubt. Seems best to use the power once moving as axle tramp a feature of launches. Did I try to remove/assemble the hood? Not needed as I am an expert courtesy of YouTube and I am sure I will enjoy the car.
As contrast, I test drove a Polestar over the same route on the Friday
Two points about the Polestar, first it has single pedal braking so by lifting off the accelerator the car brakes to a stop. Quite easy to modulate the braking but frequently moving from a normal car to Polestar braking and back must be difficult. Second is its rear view mirror which is a screen displaying a camera image. I found I could not focus on the screen image as unlike a true mirror, the distance for focusing is a couple of hundred mm v almost infinity on an actual mirror.
In other news, GT4 sold today so I am Porscheless for a while.
