Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Apart from buckets, which are a matter of choice, what makes this as car described above as " low rent ". I thought it was cheaper as it was an import and probably not C16 spec.

low rent means low list price when new due to very few options. and thus on the 2nd hand market bloody hard to now sell. Nothing is cheap for a reason the green cars sold at £120k you can buy this for £74k and then every thing inbetween.

Looking at the GT4RS prices today (Falling) and the choices out there increasing by the time the 718 RS lands on our shores any flippers bonus maybe pretty tight if anything over list at all

Interesting times ahead [8|]

Whilst not the 718, I saw a new 992turboS in a showroom two weeks ago at about £233k but this week on the Porsche new list, there's 16 new and that one was down to about £203k. Unless someone beats me to it, I'll have a look at some of those listed and configure them and compare list to showroom price.......................

As above, interesting times ahead.

Regards

Bill

Well, the one I saw has list of £213k (all figures approximate) and was showroomed at £233k and is now £203k, so has gone from a "recommended retail" of plus £20k to now £10k under.......

Quite a few are near enough at "recommended retail" but there are some £10k above and some £10k below for a car that last year I was told my "order deposit" of £10k would see me in the car in two to three years time.......... Glad I declined and went for a nine month old 718 Spyder.

It would be interesting to know how many cars, both new and used are on finance of some sort.

Regards

Bill

I was quite interested in that orange car but not quite right I would want to change a few things. I want a PTS car but it needs to have a suitable spec but I would not dismiss it on seats alone. The 18 ways are a good seat and a Spyder is not a track car so either buckets or 18 ways are okay by me. Anyway as you get to my age getting in and out of 18 ways is something I'll be able to do long after buckets :ROFLMAO:

Hi Geoff finding a PTS Spyder is a hard ask at any time but that orange car, which seems to be priced fairly compared to many, in a PTS colour you like one big box ticked:ROFLMAO: are the things you would want to change not a viable option!

I would want to change the colour of the wheels for example

Boxster GTS 4.0 were more rare vs Spyders at one point and £90k +

Now you can buy a Boxster 4.0 for under £70k the Spyders to me looks bad value. which imo why they suite Buckets and manual Still to make them just that bit more of a drivers car over a GTS. At the end of the day the 718 Spyder is a open top GT4 hence it works with buckets and is the best seller with buckets.

if you want arm chairs and PDK you might as well have a working roof and £25k in your pocket also, what would you gain with a Spyder ? bar less money in your bank account and a crap roof ! I hate the roofs to be honest and drive it up far more than I would if it were electric, I bought a Spyder so I could track it at Spa and play with GT4's, for road use the GTS is a much nicer car and cheaper on tyres, brakes etc.

Once you put comforts in a Spyder their just seems no point owning one imo.

A few months later and a few thousand miles on the market is being asked to speak again! Last time September £74270 bid NO SALE

I appreciate the interest in the market but are any people using their cars and have stories to share or are we going down the PH obsession with prices?

Regarding your comment on the orange car,

The main things for me would be the wheels I agree would need a change of colour, I would like ceramics and carbon interior pack and sills. Most of the rest okay. My problem at the minute is I could not sell mine until the parts to repair the g/box mounts are available at the moment I'm told mid / end Oct.

I think you are missing something by over simplifying, its not about just the seats, the Spyder is a much nicer looking car, yes the roof is a bit of a pain but for such a pretty car imo it is worth it. I had buckets in my previous car but I have 18 ways in the current car both are okay, for me its a pity they don't still offer the sports buckets which I think are the best of the lot.
