Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

people must realise the cars a lemon spec by now !! JZM do daft things some times, auction on these lemon spec cars is pointless as they wont meet reserve and prices are dropping every where atm, just bung it on PH for the invoice price and get shot of it. This prob won't sell yet again and now prices are even lower. Dealers are stupid some times why would Ashgoods want it ! but they always bid early and then go quite.

But it has had 2 owners so its been liked twice to date:ROFLMAO: and it is no mileage at all for its age so for circa £60k is a cheap car despite the lemon specification [link=https://carhuna.com/auctions/vehicle/2020-porsche-981-43gi611]https://carhuna.com/auctions/vehicle/2020-porsche-981-43gi611[/link]

NO SALE [] Ended Current Bid £54,000[&:]

Funny market the 981 Spyder now imo, you have got to really want that model and there is no reason too imo. And if one does decide on a 981 then it had better be a nice one. But people don't have the money now to pcp them, the rich buy the VIP cars or cars and coffee cars, the 981 GTS will make more sense to most at £50k and the 718 is a much better car in every way bar the sound which you can fix. O well we have seen a 987 fetch more on CC now than a 981, I did say this would happen and are $70+ in left hand drive.

2024 will see much lower car prices, if you worry about values sell now to Ashgoods. 718's are down £10k now.

Interesting to see 718's down £10k today so come October could easily be down another £5-10k ie List Price or less :ROFLMAO:

In the meantime back at the ranch

Would appear we all have different wants and needs as most 7 year plus 981 Spyders still trade today at or above original OTR price back in the day

the relatively large number of 718 Spyders at OPC at present due to OPC demanding existing cars back in PX so few owners can secure very last 718s this month ( non RS ) thats done now .

when the market realises that’s it for these cars and there will never be any more I don’t see them devaluing in 2024 or beyond IMO

the 981 was a cheap car and avoided all the price rises of late so about £66k list with spec sans pccb was it ?

Like wise my GT4 fully speced was £74k now the 718 can be £115k list ! same with Spyders the last few new ones could be >£100k list ! I paid about £92k for mine which was only 2 or 3 K above list price. As always spec sells cars when there are a lot for sale vs before. 24 718 at OPC's but only 8 or so nice ones and new ones at £114k !!! the later ones look expensive but the price went up SO MUCH in April for the last few made. atm 8 718's are for sale over £100k !!!

mine at £92k today would be below list if you could spec it today ! Sign of the times I watched this it's been on CC twice unsold both times really nice GTS

new money is dead due to high pcp rates, rich people don't buy these cars they want the RS and will flaunt it all over instagram daily. people already starting to brag they have a slot, but it's an odd car to want imho. (at £150k list with spec ) let alone the £230k overs they will be.

25th Boxster is a nice car and prices will drop more on those. I rarely drive mine roof down in UK weather as it's always showering. A 25th would make me use the car more and would have me top down more often.

in the 987.2 is was the rawness to drive and how light is was, lightest car Since the 964 RS lightweight a car never to be repeated and in LHD now very expensive and sort after. UK is catching up how special these cars. the 981 was the first Boxster to have a 3.8 engine and sounds great, lovely day trip out car with the other half, in fact it was my other half fave car, but my least fave one. the 718 is a true GT car the only GT style Boxster ever made, with a GT3 front end, massive brakes and GT3 electrics, a Boxster you can track if you wish and it loves it. Also looks and being rare is an apeal as they hold value better than normal cars so cheaper to own over all. All 3 models look amazing imo. 718 SPyder also rides softer than a GT4 so you get a nicer road car than the GT4 but you can still take it round Spa and not be disapointed. I have owned all 3 and still own a 987 Spyder and a 718 Spyder, love the cars and any one of the models makes you feel a bit more special.

Sadly I missed out on the yellow 981 at the OPC. I think I would have gone for it...oh well.

Anyone on here have a yellow 981 Spyder that they would like to part with? Genuine interest.

(I'm split half way between a 997.1 GT3 and a 981 Spyder...the latter is just that bit more affordable and, perhaps, more useable to own at the moment).

The 997.1 GT3 is a very special car. Mezger engine, and the rear of the car is wow esp with that spoiler!

Not sure to which OPC you are referring to as the one you missed out on but there is a yellow spyder still listed at Silverstone. It is a 718 though.

5 previous owners!

I think the Yellow one was a 981 Boxster Spyder circa 68k

Price was more what it should be or even less rather some higher priced 981s not selling .

Tried a couple of 981 Boxster Spyders but the clutch is a tad to heavy for my wife and not really suitable for regular usage and the drives it will be used for even myself I wouldn't like to get stuck in traffic for any significant time.

Getting older spoilt PdK cars traffic change areas lived all contributes, gotta get a car that suits what it's intended for but of course everyone has different needs and wants from a car.

A model for all tastes. [;)]

This was up for sale for sometime reduced to £95900 recently and now reserved

The respray was £9k alone but underneath the painted film is the original solid White

Even with red DFS chairs etc their is a bum for every seat still:ROFLMAO:
