Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

I see MrD chose not to pay the fine Daro[:D] Nice shot of the CR MrD[;)]

Good find billy1. My Grandmother was caught standing in her doorway on Google Streetview. Probably het only appearance online and may be there ad infinitum... To catch a Spyder on Streetview will probably never be repeated, well, a similar probability of winning the lottery of it happening again[8D] EDIT Oops, new page new pic[;)]

flat6 New Page "NO" Picture![] OK I know this isn't to everyones liking but I for one would accept a Spyder with it [8D] Spyders are pretty outragous by Porsche standards so why not have a fun interior to match the exterior and it is a short shifter at least[:D]

ORIGINAL: MrDemon £43 k. For a spider with the wrong wheels !!
For an 1800 miler with buckets [;)] it is in line with prices being quoted by fellow Spydermen on the previous page and I am sure as it is a private seller their is a lot of haggle room in there Imagine how much with the right wheels and gear selector [:D] http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201305126724535/sort/default/usedcars/price-from/30000/price-to/50000/model/boxster/make/porsche/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/postcode/e95lw/radius/1501/keywords/spyder/page/2?logcode=p

I couldn't accept a Spyder with the wrong wheels. No way. More importantly than the look it doesn't make sense adding a heavier wheel when other options are already going to add weight. Nice car with very low miles. If the owner is shrewd they'll say it would've been £45k if it had the right wheels[8D]

ORIGINAL: daro911 Great posting Prof Flat6[;)] Anyone in the market for an almost new Spyder apply here 1800 miles! and with Brian's favourite gearbox too http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201305126724535/sort/default/usedcars/price-from/30000/price-to/50000/model/boxster/make/porsche/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/postcode/e95lw/radius/1501/keywords/spyder/page/2?logcode=p
£10k more than the one that got away 6 months ago !! Looks like I will have to wait for a 981 Spyder [:D] or ,heaven forbid an R8 Spyder !!!! Not Linda's colour anyway !!

I'd have a red interior without a second thought. Looks even cooler with Alcantara inserts[:)]

Looks great on a black Spyder in particular IMO and this is a much more accurate shade of the red

It's the "luxury floor mats" that make all the difference! Price is a bit steep without any mention of warranty I think. Loved the Spyder on streetview by the way, particularly the location!

I agree. The worst combination we've seen was a red car with red interior. The Guards Red and the leather's red clashed. But I can't find the picture[]

Gents, I'm not clear as to what oil is suggested for the Spyder (brand and viscocity) - does anyone know the "official" suggestion? I'd like to buy a couple of litres of top-up oil.

You're right, there is no difference. But i'm very nosey and had to think of a way to extract some info on your Spyder[;)]

Gents - really appreciate the advice and enthusisasm on this forum. I can sense the overwhelming passion for these machines and it's fantastic to see! I also totally understand where you're all coming from regarding values in conjunction with spec. Flat6 - BIG thank you for all the links. v much appreciated. To answer your question... I genuinely don't mean to offend anyone, but I guess my expectations are down to that fact that I was tantalisingly close to getting the car I wanted for a nudge over mid-£30's. This car was a 2010 car with 15k miles so this had an impact on price. Certainly vs spyderwhite's '12 car. There was also a great car at Maudrell (black) that recently went for circa £35k too. I'm also close enough to an OPC contact to know that part-ex values for a good spec is below mid-£30's, but I guess this only applies to people who want to sell fast/change into something different. Had I sold my car 1-2 weeks ago, I'm pretty confident I'd be an owner right now. However, I'm under no illusions how difficult it is to find 'that' spec, so appreciate that owners who know their Spyders, wouldn't let them go easily - who could blame you? They're just so gorgeous! Daro911 was also kind enough to call me last night and his advice & knowledge were brilliant. Another piece of advice was to be patient. I'm genuinely excited about being part of this group, so ... let the hunt begin :)

ORIGINAL: rob.kellock I thought the default answer is Mobil 1?
Thank you Rob, do you know what the recommended viscocity is?
Mobil 1 New Life 0W- 40 (d) is what Mobil now recommend. GeeForce - good luck with the hunt, I'm sure you'll find something soon. Spyder specs are like marmite - dyllan who posts on here would most like a black one with heated sports seats, pdk and ideally xenon lights. He has been looking for one for ages. mr demon would recommend the lightest possible spec and has the car to prove it! A chap on Pistonheads has now done over 53000 miles in his as a daily driver and has not reported any real issues that I can recall so they certainly seem tough enough. The biggest challenge for some owners is where to go next - there are people on their 2nd or 3rd Spyders already!

Glad to hear you're well and truly in the hunt GeeForce. And you've got a good wing man in Daro. He was in my corner when I was looking for mine[:)] Glad to hear that the OPC's trade value is at least above £30K. Thanks for sharing that. A year ago we were a bit concerned as they were selling cars for around mid-30's. You've come into the market at a fairly good time. The OPC's are putting some serious effort into sourcing these cars now and from getting as low as only 1 OPC for sale (more than once), they are now all scrambling to have one on their forecourt as they probably sell quicker than other £40K Porsche (which would be a gen 1 997 or very late 987 S, for example) and we now have more than has been representative since this thread started in Sept last year. Also, I think some more private sellers are putting their car up now that the values are getting to what they want to part with it. It's a bit bonkers that some private sellers want more than OPC money, but if they have a spec someone wants, they are going (but who knows exactly what they are going for) and as MrD says, some people will buy the right car, with transferable Porsche warranty, from a private and it does happen. So, hopefully your spec comes up within, or outside of the OPC network. As RobK says, a few people have sold and come back for another Spyder having tried something else. That tells me to hold on tight to mine[;)]
