The Post code of the Dealer is E9 5LW - ACNE This one sure needs some ointment![]ORIGINAL: rob.kellockIt's a bit like the Monty Python sketch from Life of Brian - what did the Romans ever do for us? Is this the perfect spec Spyder? Well, there's the seats. But apart from that its perfect. It's not just the type of seat though is it, it's the colour of the inside. Yeah but apart from the seats and the colour inside it's perfect. Well, there's the wheels. Yeah but apart from the wheels, the seats and the colour of the inside it's perfect. Well, there's the gearbox. Yeah, but apart from the gears, the wheels, the seats and the colour of the inside, it's perfect. Well, it hasn't got ceramic brakes... etc.ORIGINAL: daro911 This cracker is back on the market again and cheaper than last years failed attempts plus 700 more miles too[&o]
Needs darker window tints to hide the owners embarrassment of the wrong wheels, seats, gearbox and no PCCBs (and not mentioning the price he paid!) []ORIGINAL: flat6 new page new pic[:'(]
You don't need heated leather chairs if car kept in garage, ran a Z4MC without for nearly five years and whilst I missed the 'wet my pants' feeling occasionally it wasn't really that bad a compromise. It was the only option missing, can't think why it wasn't spec'd. Is that sit on cloth IMO or IMO buy a car with chairs. Wash your mouth out MrD, you've almost strayed from sacred ground and the holly grail!!ORIGINAL: MrDemon the issue will full leather is, it's bloody cold. so you then have to have heated buckets. better to sit on cloth imo or buy a car with chairs.
Not the dealer that is my offices []ORIGINAL: jdpef356 The Post code of the Dealer is E9 5LW - ACNE This one sure needs some ointment![]
you are starting to sound like me these days the issue is, that spec is more like a Standard Boxster spec done up like that, and you can buy one for £23k now, why own a £42k Spyder when £23k buys you 90% the same car ? wheels seem to be the biggest deal breaker on cars standing about atm, always a buyer for cars with PDK and chairs, but Wheels seem to put people off.ORIGINAL: rob.kellockIt's a bit like the Monty Python sketch from Life of Brian - what did the Romans ever do for us? I was thinking Rob K is turning into Mr D and now your latest post seems like you are turning into the old Rob K [][] I think the reason why someone will buy a fat boy luxury spec Spyder is because at the end of the day there are only 200 odd examples and the physical differences between a stock 987 and a Spyder are pretty drastic even with the wrong alloys Forgetting Porsche retentive's I have been asked by other petrol heads driving anything from their hot hatches upto and including a concours condition Aston Martin DB4 what model Porsche am I driving and their guestimate on value is always circa 2-3 times the real world price[] So if you don't mind being well and truly noticed by all walks of life the Spyder reaches these folk who wouldn't usually look twice at a stock Boxster[&o]ORIGINAL: MrDemon you are starting to sound like me these days the issue is, that spec is more like a Standard Boxster spec done up like that, and you can buy one for £23k now, why own a £42k Spyder when £23k buys you 90% the same car ? wheels seem to be the biggest deal breaker on cars standing about atm, always a buyer for cars with PDK and chairs, but Wheels seem to put people off.

You're both right. Wheels seems to be main thing people won't budge on. Whether it's because of the lightness of the Spyder wheel or the look, or both, I don't know. But there was no way I was taking my Spyder with the turbo II's it sat on. They asked me if it was a deal breaker and I told them it certainly was. I'll take any Spyder but it must have Spyder wheels and ISOFIX. The problem with that car isn't so much the physical options (it doesn't actually have that many) but the cosmetic ones. Painting the instrument dial surrounds, the SC dial surround and the door pull covers white make the interior look garish. Add to that the wheels to knock any remaining buyers out of the equation. Then the heady price for such a car, to ensure you will be keeping the car despite the Mrs insisting it must be sold, and it will not be sold. It has the PSE that some people covet. Change those white bits and drop the price for the wheels and it'll go[]ORIGINAL: daro911I was thinking Rob K is turning into Mr D and now your latest post seems like you are turning into the old Rob K [][] I think the reason why someone will buy a fat boy luxury spec Spyder is because at the end of the day there are only 200 odd examples and the physical differences between a stock 987 and a Spyder are pretty drastic even with the wrong alloys Forgetting Porsche retentive's I have been asked by other petrol heads driving anything from their hot hatches upto and including a concours condition Aston Martin DB4 what model Porsche am I driving and their guestimate on value is always circa 2-3 times the real world price[] So if you don't mind being well and truly noticed by all walks of life the Spyder reaches these folk who wouldn't usually look twice at a stock Boxster[&o]ORIGINAL: MrDemon you are starting to sound like me these days the issue is, that spec is more like a Standard Boxster spec done up like that, and you can buy one for £23k now, why own a £42k Spyder when £23k buys you 90% the same car ? wheels seem to be the biggest deal breaker on cars standing about atm, always a buyer for cars with PDK and chairs, but Wheels seem to put people off.
Then other than it's a Spyder it has very little going for it spec wise [] It's a very certain spec looking for a very rare individual indeed and would it sell quicker if it was the cheapest on offer .... I don't think so some how [&o]ORIGINAL: flat6 P.S. and yes, red leather will rule out a lot of people too[&o]
I don't know - Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, David Blunkett...ORIGINAL: daro911 It's a very certain spec looking for a very rare individual indeed
Keeping it real I know two officially colour blind people so maybe someone like that will fit the bill[8D] On the other hand the next owner may well end up on here so best behave ourselves [] Final thought ... it's a little more tame than the Black & Tango example []ORIGINAL: rob.kellockI don't know - Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, David Blunkett...ORIGINAL: daro911 It's a very certain spec looking for a very rare individual indeed

Well i love the red interior but that is just me. My concern would be the light reflection from the dash on the screen. I just got a Spyder brochure and price list off evilbay. Why did people pay extra money to have other wheels to replace Spyder wheels
The same reason people decided not to add back the radio when it was free. Just not all there IMO of course!!ORIGINAL: Rocket Man Well i love the red interior but that is just me.
