Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

The gods were aligned, and I managed to get a day off yesterday to have a blat around the dales. Champion weather!

Rob, I got a bit of a deal for Leeds to do a combined: - Major service - Brake Fluid - Plugs - 4 Tyres Can't remember the exact deal, but I think the usual 10% wasn't far off the mark. If you need more info I'll dig out the invoicing.
ORIGINAL: rob.kellock [:D][:D] John, I set 'em up, you fill the punchline! Apologies Tracy, I have court commitments that day. Mr D, did you have the 4 year major service? Did you get a deal at all or were you stuck with menu pricing? Mine is due at the end of May...

Great pic of the road ahead just begging to be driven by a Spyder [:)]

Great photos, thanks Steve. It takes dedication to stop for a photo shoot on a drive like that! Thanks for the info regarding servicing - seems the gods aligned for Leeds OPC when you booked that in! flat6 - we need to have a play round there one time, it's not so far. Also, I have managed to book Friday off work - departing Charnock Richard services at 10am with at least Jeremy, possibly a couple of others too, to go and watch the RS boys strut their stuff at Oulton Park if you or indeed any other Spydermen fancy it?

ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan Only 4 CR's at the OPC and only 2 of them are manual. Prices also seem to be holding if not rising slightly.
Yeah the R is doing well. Porsche really hit a sweet spot with these 2 cars.

Thanks Rob. I can't do that day. I'm off down South to pick up a work horse for karting. Nothing fancy but it's time for me to start bringing the kart home to work on and taking it to other tracks. It's been kept in storage up to now. We did our first race away from our usual track at the weekend. My boy learnt the track on the Saturday and won the race on the Sunday! Our first win - the proudest day of my life! I hope for many more but it wont be easy. The expenses are spiraling plus there's so much to learn - both driving technique and kart set-up. Hired a van for that weekend but now getting my own transport. There's no such thing as a cheap form of motorsport!

Congratulations! You must be proud as anything. You'll have to let us keep us informed - Team Mangetout Racing are always looking for new drivers [;)]

That's impressive! Sell the Spyder if you have to, he could be the next Lewis Hamilton!

Damn, I'd have popped down for a watch but I'm working in Milan Friday and Saturday []

Thanks Homerdog, thanks Andy[:)] I'd do anything to be honest if he continues to develop. In a couple of years when he's 10 I'll get a better understanding of how much potential he has. He's holding his own against the older boys but he needs to get bigger so we can remove some of the 18kg of ballast he's carrying as its dead weight as opposed to shifting body weight around the kart. These karts are doing over 40mph. What he's doing on track I don't know where be gets it from. His lap times are all within a few 10ths of one another. Too early for me get carried away though but i'll certainly stick at it - as Team Mangetout would say, "Living the Dream"[;)]

Great stuff flat6 and what a wonderful adventure you two have just begun "Long May You Run" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjxz90hLYtw

Shame, but I can't make Friday. Got the day off, but to go to Geneva for the motor show with a chum. Hopefully the Porsche nibbles are worth the journey! Last year, they had 911 shaped jelly tots! Hope you all enjoy Oulton - looks like decent weather for you.

Cheers Steve, am sure you'll enjoy your day!
ORIGINAL: philnotts99 Out of interest has anyone fitted a ipod connection to the Spyder? Phil
Mine has the Aux in socket in the centre console, you need the dexterity of a magician to fit an iPhone inside it and shut the lid first time. This "feature" does not integrate well with the radio and is a pain in the proverbial when a duff track comes on. I don't know what aftermarket solutions exist.
