spark plug change is not needed if low miles!ask for a loyalty discount i did and got 10pc straight off on my 2 year service.
White Spyder - you need to think carefully about your username! Good evidence of your commitment in that photo, a proper winter patina!
If you can, build a relationship with 2 OPC's and do business with both inc warranty work which costs you nothing play the field. Then when they contact you for servicing etc you have options and they will work for your business. You may get the brake fluid change for free as I did and i'm not very good at haggling, they just offered it when I said I had planned to take it to blah blah OPC. I've found OPC's very competitive on tyres and match black circles prices so I've always given them that business too. Even if they've been a few quid out it's not been an amount worth taking the car anywhere outside the OPC network, which I'd rather not do anyway. Just personal choice. Haven't got the service book in front of me but as others have said, I think there's something in there about the spark plug change being dependent on x & y so isn't a given that they need changing. Being a Porsche Club member also helps build a relationship with your OPC. We have a club night hosted at the OPC one a year - food, drink, entertainment, cars new and old to look at and the staff get to know you as a customer they value through the club connection that they want to maintain. Plus you're already well acquainted when you return to do business. Got a cracking deal at our last club night where for that night only they waivered this and that on warranty renewals booked on the night and saved myself £300[] It really does pay to be a club member []ORIGINAL: White Spyder Taken from the email:- · 40.000 miles/4 year service - £610.00 included in the service is oil & oil filter change, pollen filter and air filter replacement. best to have the Spark plugs done at 4 years you don't want issues later with them seezing in and it would be a question I would ask as a buyer if they had been done per Porsche 4 year routine. you can get the PS2 for £217 it's the best N rated tyre, but neither my Spyder or Cayman R run N rated any more. the game has moved on and Porsche will not N rate for older cars the newer tyres, so in effect you are putting on a 8 year old design. PS2 is still a awesome tyre though.

Thanks all, Will be getting the plugs changed for peace of mind. Camskills will do the tyres for 217 plus delivery plus fitting, Guildford tyres are 252inc and porsche want 272 all in (initially they wanted £321 each!) Have the Michelin pilot sports N2 been updated or is everyone still using them? *Thanks MrD, should have typed quicker. James
Agreed. It would only be a consideration not to change them at the 4 yr service if you'd done very little miles. Some cars haven't even completed 10,000 miles by the time the major service comes around.ORIGINAL: MrDemon best to have the Spark plugs done at 4 years
So gents, what do we reckon? The closest thing to a Spyder replacement for the foreseeable future... £53k plus extra for the fancy interior, extra for PCM, extra for PDK, extra for BOSE... [link]http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/boxster/boxster-gts/drive/[/link]

Not worth it. Plus what's with the plastic strip across the rear lights [:'(]
All 981s are like that, I quite like it. A couple of clicks from the microsite takes you to the approved used car locator. Silverstone have a Boxster GTS spec car with 7k miles and loads of goodies for £47k... Only thing missing is a couple of BHP and that new car smell for about a £15000 saving!

Yea i know they do. It was one of the reasons i never went into a new 981. The older i get, the more old school Porsche's i like. Not really fussed on any of the new models currently....
My oh my, this is woefully underwhelming. Apart from the extra 15HP, is it then just some options included as standard (PASM, PDLS and SC) and some cosmetic changes? Not even a new wheel design for the whimsical or a chassis modification for the chargers. So to get 15HP more you have to take the GTS package. Does 15HP more really define a whole new model? It's a gen 2 at best, surely? It'll sell because it now the top model but with such little differentiation it undermines the S making it simply the option if you're on a budget. What's the point in getting the S other than its cheaper[&o] Spyder / R vs S made sense and there's enough reason not to want a Spyder/R other than price and vice versa.
i haven't done the maths but the LP difference between an S & GTS is £6k and for that you get £8k worth of kit i.e. the PASM: PSE: Sports Chrono: Sports Seats Plus with Alcantara : Bi Xenon PDLS Smoked Glass Lights: 20" Alloys:CDR with RDS not to mention the extra 15bhp plus a much more sporty front and rear end ... All in all this is about as close to a Spyder I think the 981 will ever get (certainly for the foreseeable)[] Will it be the greatest driving Boxster / Cayman ever ..... My money says it probably will be []ORIGINAL: flat6 My oh my, this is woefully underwhelming. And the Cayman GTS is even less exciting http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/cayman/cayman-gts/ Absolutely nothing distinguishing about it [:'(]
