Erm, I think it could be an age thing![]
Welcome aboard the Cayman Register Rob - car looks great.
Indeed I'm standing in an Alfa Romeo showroom looking at a 4C. In looks alone it puts the Spyder firmly in the shade! As soon as I've made my appointment for a drive I'll start thinking about cashing in myself!ORIGINAL: daro911ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan Wow, lots of Spydermen handing their suits back []

I wondered why I didn't meet you out on track again in the afternoon! Great to meet up with you again Rob and the new C looks great. []ORIGINAL: rob.kellockMy Spyder did Oulton Park 4 times, Stowe Part of Silverstone once, Anglesey once and 22000 other miles on its original front tyres. Bridgestones. The Pirellis today were screwed before morning coffee... On Friday I was wondering when I'd ever be in a Spyder again. Delighted it was today! Even from the passenger seat you can tell how different/ amazing the Spyder is. Cayman S is a giant killer too though. Could just about keep up with Demon Sorry we missed you when leaving - looked high and low for you!ORIGINAL: MrDemon as normal not impressed with N spec tyres though ;-)
Am afraid so Steve, the feathering on the n/s/f in particular was awful. They did get very hot.
I really really hope not but after the 100 mile drive home they are still looking a bit poorly. It's not as though I am Tiff Needell doing power slides everywhere, if anything I'd say I drove the Spyder more enthusiastically - the car's cornering limits are greater than my bottle! There's plenty of tread left so hopefully they will settle down.ORIGINAL: tyinsky Am I reading that right? You have gone through a pair of front tyres in a weekend by doing one trackday?
When you replace them are you going back to the Bridges which happens to be the flavour my Spyder came with[&o]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock I really really hope not but after the 100 mile drive home they are still looking a bit poorly. I was always happy with them on the Spyder. Will see how I get on!

5 Spyders at llandudno today, shame we could not get them all together for a picture. If Rob would have waited selling his for a short while longer we could have had 6 there. Well perhaps next time. Good to put a face to all these Spyder men. A good day had by all.
It was very pleasant and well supported . I did ponder the absence of the sixth Spyder...

If it hadn't been for some fast thinking a grey one might have ended up on the shingle beach-just started rolling backwards of its' own account as I approached it -fortunately members adjacent quickly grabbed hold-I just got 2 large pebbles off the shingle & stuck them behind the rear tyres--phew[&o]
But has Rob even thought to mention his car in the register in which it belongs - old habits die hard[] It' s a good job he's not Register Director[] Rob, from what I remember, Anglesey produces a lot of tyre debris from the racing cars & you'll pick up a lot of that which bonds to your tyres and stays for many road miles. Could it be that making your tyres look chewed?ORIGINAL: jdpef356 Peter Your on the wrong Forum?[][]
Crikey! Some quick thinking to find a simple solution with what came to hand! What did the owner say or was he/she out of sight when it happened?ORIGINAL: VITESSE If it hadn't been for some fast thinking a grey one might have ended up on the shingle beach-just started rolling backwards of its' own account as I approached it -fortunately members adjacent quickly grabbed hold-I just got 2 large pebbles off the shingle & stuck them behind the rear tyres--phew[&o]
But not quick enough to reach in and stick it in gear [] Thanks to Colin for saving a Spyder though! I did pick up a lot of "marbles" some of which were causing vibrations but the blocks in the shoulder of the tyre were raised upwards on their leading edges somehow!ORIGINAL: flat6Crikey! Looks great Rob! You've certainly sprung a surprise on here and also you're the first Spyderman I'm aware of that's gone 981. But having loaned a 981 Cayman or two, I think it is is a wise move in order to maintain a similar driving thrill to the Spyder & it amazingly does so with the capability to be more refined but with a similar capability for direction changing, poise and grip. I'm sure it'll prove a shrewd move and no doubt already has done and might get others thinking more about 981 now that a Spyderman has done it []ORIGINAL: rob.kellock
Cheers matey [] Just realised, I have done the opposite to you: 911 to White Spyder to Red Cayman!!
