Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: DarrellWilson Looks like the white spyder at OPC Mayfair has gone up in price from £43,900 to £45,000 - a sign that prices continue to strengthen?……..or they're looking to recover the retail cost of the 4 year service that was due as it's a May 2010 car.
i was under the impression or read it on porsche site if a service is due within 3 months approved opc cars had this done anyway. just checked and this is correct its if a service is due in 3 months or 3000 miles it is carried out

Question for those who've been in the seats longer than I. PSM - when it's off it is actually still on? Or am I losing my mind as for the first time in many years I am finding going sideways difficult (properly sideways, not just a couple of foot slip). Me or car? How do I turn it off?

If you have the same car with 3000 more miles, but decided you wanted the red interior.....they want £9k to change. Suddenly makes a black bucket interior a little more bearable! [;)]

Afraid so. Not sure why you want to go side ways though ,it's not a drift car. But I doubt you are hitting PSM limits, it will flash orange when it feels like it wants to cut back in even when off. Mid engine cars are very hard to get side ways ESP ones with perfect balance like the Spyder. You could put 40psi in the rears and fit a stiffer rear ARB from the R if that floats your boat.

I thought it was me. Thanks for the clarification. Have had no issue in other mid engine cars (lotus, vx220, noble, pre traction control Boxster), except a Clio V6 - which would be a 50/50 gamble on whether you would catch it or spin. Why the nannying?

Not sure why PSM off is not off, it is a little annoying on the tighter bends on track. Also had 2 lotus and a Noble, lotus not possable to drift, noble to scary to drift lol. Just sold a v8m3 that drifted if you looked at it wrong or sneezed.

It's very annoying on track [] It cuts the throttle just when you needed it most and induces a tank slapper which ends up with you fighting the car for control [:-]

Morning, Just want to say, i fully recommend Monaco if you ever get the chance. Saw 1 black Spyder over there too! Hopefully picking my Spyder up this week or weekend [:D]

only had it cut in on one corner at Bedford. but I guess on sprint tracks and hill climbs where the bends are tighter it would get in the way. You can get it programmed out by a wiz kid who can do those sort of things.

Agree with the Lotus, what was your problem the the Noble? There is a bend near me that I couldn't help myself on (has got a lot of space though!) :)

Really puzzled as to why they have wired the electronics like this. Off should mean off! They are sports cars, and especially with the Cayman R they were destined for track days!
