ORIGINAL: philnotts99 Very happy with everthing really. I didnt pay the asking price either. Don't collect the car until next week sadly, as i'm away at the F1 this weekend!
nice place to choose a F1 visit :) never been myself sadley
Went once on an extremely hot weekend and the getting in and out of the circuit/grandstand area can be very claustrophobic to say the least If these standards of facilities for both public and teams were anywhere else it would have been deleted from the calender way before many others that have now gone into the history books[&o] Hopes it a classic race weekend for you philnotts99[;)]
most F1 is like that, only way to do F1 these days is VIP or knowing some one who knows some one. DID VIP with santdandare about 3 years back , it's quite good then, general public, well not for me lol can you get anywhere in Monaco as public ?

My worst nightmare getting caught out like this []Even in my daily driver [:D]

Well, a day at the PEC has well and truly put a spanner in whatever idea I had of selling up... Every driving 'consultant' I spoke to about the Spyder reckon it's one of Porsche's finest hours. All said what a great car it is, and considering these chaps drive all manner of exotica and not just Porsches, I think that's high praise indeed. So, I have some thinking to do. Oh, and that Batak - say hello to the champion of the day (for the second time) - score of 46 gave me a few hot laps in a 911 50th Anniversary - bloody hell it was good in the rain! [:D]

Ha that's exactly how I got to buy my first Spyder. Day at PEC to test the brand new 997 GTS the only 911 in years that rotated my wheels[:D] Had a great session and whilst chatting to my instructor he happened to mention his favourite all round Porsche was the Spyder It had the looks, exclusivity, light weight, more than enough power, grip, handling and all the things we cherish in our personal ownership etc. At lunch his other colleagues freely passed similar comments about the Spyder being one of those instant classics So on my way back home I dropped into OPC Silverstone who had a low mileage almost new Spyder for sale and after just a few miles behind the wheel my mind was made up. Forget the GTS which was the best 911 since the 993's and go for the much cheaper and even more fun to drive rarer Spyder. The rest is history

Why do you think I still have mine and bought the R to go with it. Proper cars. Nothing drives as well as them Lotus inc. Gt3 owners don't have a scooby what they are missing out on. The issue is every new car will have electric steering, auto gearbox,s and 4 pot engines so that's the last of them :-( How you can even think swapping to a 4c or an Exige would be a good move is just not clear thinking lol If you want a car which can do 170mph with out much noise and is that little more tail happy, swap the Spyder for the R and join another exclusive club. It even sounds better.

Mine came back from its major service yesterday and the delivery driver said pretty much the same. When I said that he must get to drive all the different models, he said the Spyder was his favourite. Didn't make the bill any easier to swallow mind! [&:]

Buy a Merc AMG, BMW M Series or Italian Mistress and a Porsche service bill starts to look a bargain after all[:D] and it's only every 2 years unlike the Italians

BMW M is cheap to service if you don't do the miles. It's only oil and brake fluid every two years, the services on the dash are purely on mileage so are not required until you hit the distance. For me covering 4k max per year it makes for cheap servicing. Oil and brake fluid when own oil supplied only cost me about £240. Even the big service was only £600ish inc MOT. These prices were E46 M3 and Z4MC - same engine though.

But think what it will add to the resale value [:D] All the best Dylan

My two M cars have been the most expensive to run by miles the CSL and the M3 V8 comp were crazy expensive to run (I use my cars 12k PA) 17 mpg and £500 tax to add to the high M service and don't forget if you buy new £1000 tax and the running in service. the brakes are also shit on both :)

Did they tell you that you were good looking, witty and intelligent too? [:D][:D][:D] 46 on the Batak is good, I managed 45 last time but it didn't get me a prize.

been dithering as to what to do with mine for a month or two now.... just dont use it enough as need 4 seats....but just dont want to sell it cos I love it!!!! It hasnt even got 5k on the clock yet for a 2011... That's a disgrace in my eye for such a fun car to drive! Have got all the toys on it inc buckets and spyder wheels, pdk and chrono plus..... if I do go ahead and advertise it, any thoughts on how much?

Do you reckon?! The warranty is due for renewal in August, more expense! [:D] [/quote I am sure any reasonable buyer would take the cost to you of these into account In the event of you selling [;)]

Robert, please....good looking, witty and intelligent goes without saying. They also mentioned an aura of awesomeness when I got in a car. :)) I got 46 both times on the Batak. Beat last years score by 2, which I also won. Not bad for a 21 year old eh?!
