Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

I am 2nd in the list for the Cayman GT4 or what ever it is going to be at my OPC which always does well on the sporty cars. as for SPyders, as others have said, you get this blip on the 4 year service and of course when the PCP run out and people cannot fund the balloon. nothing new in any of this. Always a flood of cars when they are 3 years old and again at the big 4 year service esp if the car needs brakes tyres and the service, people just shop them in. NO white manual cars with bucket seats and spyder wheels for sale though, so you can still ask what you want for that spec :) Some has just bought a Cayman R on Pistonheads (a bloody nice one it seems, all the toys and PCCB), guess what he part ex in for it.... yes a nice new 981 Boxster. a 997.2 is a nice buy now so again people are tempted into that 911 craving. new page new pic from the Prom, not a R or a Spyder though , but a well loved car here, so hope it passes ;-)

Its owner chastised me last night for not offering him my Spyder! He is a serious collector. I was quite surprised he was interested, probably a good sign for you Spyder owners. I stand by my private / OPC comments above though, whilst I agree that some Spydermen may have the skills and mindset to source the best vehicles irrespective of vendor, you are talking about a niche within a niche within a niche... Had Phil bought my car privately I bet we'd both be disappointed to learn it needed new front brakes... Zyp - if I turn up for a test drive would I get the kit kat?

I think i was very lucky that your Spyder went to OPC Notts Rob, as its potentially saved me a bomb! I now get the added bonus of all the work FOC, 2 yr warranty and full fat major being done plus other bits and bobs i requested!

I think you will find the price difference between Rob the seller & philnotts99 the buyer is what your OPC calls "profit margin" and you call FOC[:D] http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1090892_porsche-makes-more-money-per-car-than-audi-bentley-or-lamborghini

You beat me to it[:D][:D] didn't think OPC where a registered charity [:D][:D][:D] Main thing is you are happy with your purchase and the deal you got and hope you get as many happy miles and smiles as Rob did .

Very happy with everthing really. I didnt pay the asking price either. Don't collect the car until next week sadly, as i'm away at the F1 this weekend!

I ummed and ahhed for ages on this one, as I liked the shift action on the "standard". However, (after emailing Zyp for his thoughts) decided to go for it and had it retrofitted. I'd choose to do the same again - my experience is that it's not a night and day complete transformation, but it is better. Hope that helps! Steve

nice place to choose a F1 visit :) never been myself sadley

ORIGINAL: daro911 Excluding the Cat D there are now 9 Spyders for sale [&o] great time for any cash buyers poor time for any wannabe high priced sellers
and not a nice one amongst those,3 cars have the wrong wheels,1 looks if its abused,2 high milers, and 1 catD.the other 2 are not worth getting excited about either.so if any one is thinking of selling and has a nice clean example low miles etc now is the time to sell as i can see no competition out there. autotrader has only black ones which at present seems the least popular colour with white and red the most popular followed by silver and blue.

Went once on an extremely hot weekend and the getting in and out of the circuit/grandstand area can be very claustrophobic to say the least If these standards of facilities for both public and teams were anywhere else it would have been deleted from the calender way before many others that have now gone into the history books[&o] Hopes it a classic race weekend for you philnotts99[;)]
