Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: daro911
ORIGINAL: rob.kellock I think we should get philnotts and tyinsky to meet us up at the Evo Triangle early one morning and see if our previous white cars are faster than our new red ones!!
White or Red [:D] WHITE is a combination of all colours within the light spectrum, and is associated with goodness, perfection, purity, innocence, truth, faith, sincerity, cleanliness, peace and harmony, refinement and dignity. Those who choose to drive a WHITE car are often ‘neat-freaks’ who value order and organization, and who prefer to be up-front and honest in both their professional and private lives. Driving a WHITE vehicle may indicate someone who is truthful and honest, and at times, fastidious and fussy. Drivers of WHITE cars can also be seen to be frivolous and lacking in financial caution. Those who drive WHITE cars are often generous and outgoing people who are earnest and accommodating, and often have very trusting personalities. People who choose to drive WHITE vehicles often have average self-confidence about the course of their lives, and are quite consistent in regards to their moods and attitudes. A clean WHITE car indicates someone who pays great attention to detail and who is cautious and careful in life. WHITE car owners can be critical and discerning, detail-minded and overly-cautious. A dirty WHITE car can imply that the owner is indifferent, lazy and sloppy. RED RED is associated with danger, excitement and speed. RED is an exciting colour that embodies vitality, fun, ambition and achievement. RED gives off a high energy vibration that has been found to raise the blood pressure and stimulate the senses, and those who own and drive RED cars may be inclined to take more risks than others. While RED cars don’t necessarily don’t go any faster than any other car, the owners of RED cars are most often the ones trying to get ahead of the pack. Those who choose to drive a RED car often resonate with high-action, sex appeal, moving quickly and being flashy. A RED car can indicate a passionate person who likes to take charge of situations, and who at times can seem a little ‘wild’. RED car owners are not afraid to get things done. RED cars denote those who have ‘high performance’ energy and drive, and who are full of zest, courage, ambition and verve. They can be impatient characters who live their lives at a fast pace. People who drive RED cars are often enthusiastic about life and are passionate about their interests and themselves. Those who drive a RED car can be described as being extroverted and ‘out there’. They have a ‘go-getter’ type of personality and enjoy adventure and action. Those who drive RED cars are ‘take charge’ kinds of people who like to get things done quickly and efficiently. RED car owners can be impulsive and aggressive and can be prone to emotional ups and downs in quick succession. Physically aggressive types of people will be attracted to a shiny RED car. BRIGHT RED subconsciously sends others the message that the owner is in a high income bracket.
Interesting[:)] If I ever owned a Ferrari it would have to be in their signature red and may actually subconsciously be for some of the reasons described[:D] But for both red Porsches i've had it just happened to be the right car with right spec, mileage and price and the red paint was a bonus[;)] Was there a description for black and silver cars?

ORIGINAL: tyinsky Haha. Doubt I would be quick enough to push anyone out the way. EVO is a loooong way for me otherwise I'd love to help try and prove white cars are faster or something. New car looks good Flat6. Got pulled over in your old one this morning and sat with the police for 20 minutes talking about the car. I'd forgotten to tell the insurance company when your plate came off! KAT reg car is the higher mileage one we were commenting on in here a while back that some of us thought was a bargain and others didn't.
As long as they don't come knocking on my door[:D] Did they let you off after admiring your rare beast[:)]

That's my usual style of driving [8D]

I agree daro911, Ferrari has to be red, I did it, would not say no to Gallio yellow though! Kenny Spider 430

Took them a while to work it out - I was no help. Gave them the wrong broker! Hadn't even occurred to me that the plates had changed. And yes, very interested in the car. Shortly afterwards a new style red Cayman was tow trucked away! Saw the photo on Facebook earlier.

ORIGINAL: philnotts99 I know my head is saying leave it, heart says do it! [:D].....And as mentioned i could get one driving home anyway!... For a 4 year old car and 22k on the clock it’s in very good condition, even if Rob visited the kitty litter a few times [8D] Looking around the car last night, i think my biggest problem is going to be tar marks on the white. Never owned a white car before but you can really see them. Autoglym intense tar remover was working quite well though.
Tar spots can be a bit of a pain but remember using a tar remover strips off any protection (wax/sealant) you already have on the car. I recently used Gtechniq sealant on my Spyder and have found that it repels dirt and tar amazingly well. Since applying my car washes take half the time and even though it's quite pricey It's well worth it IMO. I have a friend that recently had an F430 resprayed because of stone chips, we then went to France and he got a large chip on the first day, he's gutted! I've got a few chips on mine and may get it resprayed at the end of the "Spyder season" but in the mean time just use a bit of Turtle Wax Colour Magic. It's a cheap temporary fix but it does work pretty well at covering a bit of road rash.

Whilst perusing the latest Porsche Post, my attention was grabbed by the advert from Pie Performance (page 136). There are 3 outline drawings of vehicles, and I'm pretty sure the bottom one is, ............., very Spyderish! I can't work out how to "grab" this image though - is anyone one here clever enough to be able to do that? Steve

Is the page PDF? If so , i dont mind pulling it out and posting on here. As soon as i get the garage set up, there will be some Zaino polish and wax layers going on...Hopefully to keep the tar down.

Have been road testing these and have to say they are EXCELLENT[;)] http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KENT-CAR-CARE-EXTRA-LARGE-MICROFIBRE-DRYING-TOWEL-5-SQ-FT-BETTER-THAN-CHAMOIS-/231048731840?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item35cb93dcc0

That car's only ever been touched by zymol product - put your hand in your pocket and keep it up! If it's not garaged, all the more reason to wax it up immediately! That drying towel looks good value - I take it that its decent quality - I bought a multipack of microfibre cloths at the weekend and they are disappointingly thin and small (thought they were folded in half in the packet but they weren't).

The advert is in the print copy of Porsche Post, so I guess I can scan it to get it into a pdf. I had a look on their website hoping that it would be there electronically, but no joy.

Rob it won the best drying cloths award from Autoexpress and I have to say it's a great piece of kit at any price but at this price level it's a no brainer[;)] Third win on the trot for this remarkable towel from car care accessory specialist Kent. Of our top cloths it’s the easiest to use, cleverly balancing water absorbency with ease of use, leaving our test panel with the faintest of films, which dried fast. It’s big, so wringing is kept to a minimum, and don’t forget that super price – around a third of many rivals’. I'll stick with these http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products,71,toView_554.html as for "It’s big, so wringing is kept to a minimum, " you never have to wring a uber towel. best out there by miles, I am fussy when it comes to drying. tar remover you say, again only one http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/autosmart-tardis-cat6.html for a white car you say http://www.werkstat.com/ I use Zymol concours on the R £165 a pot but the werkstate is awesome on white and will last you for ever.

Rob, give me a list of Zymol products that was used and i amy treat it to the same [:D] Garage wont be ready for 6- 8 weeks, so its catching a cold currently [:(]

werk stat works and looks better than the Zymol for white imo and is very very easy to put on and cheap. Goto page one and look who has the car with the best reflections and for white that's not easy esp with a wax. its about the right products for the right job :)

Zymol on the R though :)
