Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: rob.kellock White is so last season, darling. Red scrubs up nicely [:D]
RED is associated with danger, excitement and speed. RED is an exciting colour that embodies vitality, fun, ambition and achievement. RED gives off a high energy vibration that has been found to raise the blood pressure and stimulate the senses, and those who own and drive RED cars may be inclined to take more risks than others. While RED cars don’t necessarily don’t go any faster than any other car, the owners of RED cars are most often the ones trying to get ahead of the pack. Those who choose to drive a RED car often resonate with high-action, sex appeal, moving quickly and being flashy. A RED car can indicate a passionate person who likes to take charge of situations, and who at times can seem a little ‘wild’. RED car owners are not afraid to get things done. RED cars denote those who have ‘high performance’ energy and drive, and who are full of zest, courage, ambition and verve. They can be impatient characters who live their lives at a fast pace. People who drive RED cars are often enthusiastic about life and are passionate about their interests and themselves. Those who drive a RED car can be described as being extroverted and ‘out there’. They have a ‘go-getter’ type of personality and enjoy adventure and action. Those who drive RED cars are ‘take charge’ kinds of people who like to get things done quickly and efficiently. RED car owners can be impulsive and aggressive and can be prone to emotional ups and downs in quick succession. Physically aggressive types of people will be attracted to a shiny RED car. BRIGHT RED subconsciously sends others the message that the owner is in a high income bracket.

That's just interiors. I think this thread has sunk to a low point today, exorcising demons and a picture of a dog's penis... So, any Spyders at OPC's for sale today or are they nearly extinct? [:D]

That was me at the pistonheads meet! Had a nice trip to goodwood today thanks to Porsche also! Nice clear roads at 5am this morning!

Mmm... That Portsmouth car seems dear to me. If it sells quickly then I just made a very poor financial decision. Still, Cayman is going well and works better in the rain!

Vin number irrelevant in my view - Spyder is a Spyder. No sports chrono, no leather dash, no PDK ( [:(] ) Wonder where the market will settle to once all the 991 GT3s find homes, some 997 GT3s come back on the market and the 981 GTS starts to filter through...

Well everything you mention there is probably a good £20k minimum more expensive so I say bring it on and let's see the £50k Spyder at a showroom near someone shortly [:D][:D][:D]

NOSE BADGES !!!!!! There seem to be 2 different sorts fitted to Spyders !!!! Most seem to have a smooth enamel finish but I have also seen a couple with the "raised contour" type. Is it an age thing or weight thing ??????

[;)] of course I am not leaving because a few get upset about me saying some thing about a lump of metal. If people want to polish or drive about in fakes then that's upto them, but telling some one what they should post and to leave the forum is funny. If I did not agree with any one or got upset set by the polished tail pipe picture every 4 pages, I don't then go mouthing off and saying please leave the forum lol. I just don't post back about said topic ! I have my views, none are ever personal, all are about lumps of metal, so why get upset or makes things personal. ? I'll get on with every one as long as then don't make personal attacks, I can bite back :) but will always try not too and will never tell people what they can or cannot post. cannot please every one on forums these days if you are outspoken and have your own views, that's forums for you. I have seen people here try and get a rise from me, slating my car, PCCB, no radio etc, but then fail to get a rise from me, it's just a car, people will have views on spec till the cows come home. wanting Spyder wheels seems a big selling point and most agree . state another option like buckets and people then don't agree, and then people get upset when some one has a personal view. people need to chill out about these lumps of metal and take it on the chin imo. you don't get many of the track guys post on here, there is a reason for that I guess and the forum is now lacking any real content imo, it's all prices and Spider men logo these days. It was nice to get away to Spa with 65 like minded people, the interest in the Spyder was big, every one on the same wave length, even on the way home you get the lorry drivers talking to you in the jams, and the kids on the buses always want a thumbs up. It's an iconic car if you polish it or track it or both, I don't care what people do with them, but let me have my own views and all will be good, if you don't like them swallow it up, but if we were all "yes" men and all liked the same thing life would be a bit dull. Have a new pic

let's all move on chaps and chapesses.... we all have different views - maybe let's just stop repeating them ad finitum? So - need some help - Have been dithering for ages now whether to keep or sell... but (as a reminder), I really need my toy to seat 4 peopl, as more and more often I will be taking the family with me... So - its back to a 997 (been there, done that) or perhaps a California. So, where should I pitch it? Its pretty much fully loaded... White , 2011 Spyder Wheels Bucket Seats CDR 30 Audio System Sound Package Plus including CD storage Sports Chrono Plus PDK (with paddles) Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including navigation module Telephone module for PCM Universal audio interface 4,800 miles ParkAssist (rear) Carrara White instrument dials Fully automatic climate control Sports exhaust system Thats the bulk of it - cant remember off hand what else! The wheels, lower arm of the mirrors and air scoop trims are painted in RS WeissGold - a very pale (barely noticeable) gold that Porsche use on the RS.... maybe not to everyone's taste, but it looks fantastic - very very subtle...but lovelty when the sun shines on it. To take this all back to standard wold cost around £800 - but I would be pretty sure that 80% of people that see it would keep it that way....everyone's different! The front driver's wheel is lightly curbed. Other than that - the car is genuinely immaculate. So - how much do I advertise it for? Would like to see it go to a good home where it gets looked after - it's an awesome car! I'm still not actually 100% that I want to let it go....!! Thoughts please...?

Fix the wheel. If you want big bucks for it, put 2 years Porsche warranty on it. Private sale may not realise what a dealer can achieve - maybe speak to Tom at 911V? Prices seem on the up and up even from when I sold mine 6 weeks ago...

Thanks for the return visit Mr D but perhaps you missed this post which was an attempt to keep the place alive with fresh debate and car related stuff at the same time "people need to chill out about these lumps of metal and take it on the chin imo. the forum is now lacking any real content imo, it's all prices and Spider men logo these days. "

I would do an SOR deal via 911V who are advertising for Spyders but I would 100% fix that curbed alloy no matter what you do with the car and my final thought is if at all possible KEEP IT. Once gone you will struggle to ever find such a good spec no mileage example again when you need to scratch that itch and 4 seats no longer as big an issue as it may or may not be today 911 or California are barely 4 seaters in the real sense of the word so both may only be stop gap solution before you start thinking about Panamera or Macan [:D][:D] Whatever you do weigh up the loss of a pure classic driving Porsche v your next move ... Good luck it's a hard call

I've constantly dithered about selling mine but just can't. Four new tyres have just gone on and the warranty will be renewed in August. If you need four seats do what I've done - keep the Spyder, and I'm about to order a new M3. I think it's a great drive and will be nice to be able to take the family out in a decent performance car.

Doh!... that's not what I needed to hear Daro - I wasn't even 100% about it, as I like you agree it is a far better car to drive than most things you can find. Its just having the two extra (poor excuses for) seats will mean I use the car more often... What to do!!!???
