Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Not sure from the current look the new Spyder is that bespoke apart from humps, hood and potential for a 3.8. It's more about the overall package gelling together imo. The cayman r and 987 spyder look like a thorough rethink of what it should be (the spyder more so). The gt4 is a bit of a parts bin special that will end up being super special imo. The 981 spyder Just looks to have a 5 year old hood design and a manual box. The gt4 a real weapon that sits below its big brother. The spyder Doesn't look remotely desirable to me. The gt4 however. I would buy it just for the sound it makes in the YouTube vids. So gruff and angry! If I get the coin in the future I would love to add a gt3 4.0 lump to the spyder!

I would buy the 981 Spyder for the soundtrack alone the beefed up racier bodywork and that extra 55bhp over the original. 100 fewer examples should help keep it rare enough to be as good a buy as the original has turned out to be in year 5 Apart from the new more aggressive look and soundtrack you get the upgraded and roomier interior and I am told a more user friendly 2 piece roof system. To me it sounds like the perfect evolution of the original concept but this time around with the extra speed and music to match the looks

It's interesting that whatever way the hood is fitted in this "new Spyder" the flow of the humps does not run right out to the sides of the car, the way it does in ours, they now stop at the boot edge. It looks like this loss of flow might be the price to pay for a revised hood. If you blow up the top picture you can see what I mean, I think this makes the humps look more of an add on than the perfect flow of ours.

Wow!! 700 pages and almost 14.000 posts and over 187.000 hits .... I await 1st April with baited breath to see what the new Spyder looks like and what the spec it will come with . Will have to be very special for me to make the change .

ORIGINAL: flat6 Yeah it is quite chuckable and practical. The PASM set-up seems better than on the Cayman that was the same age. Glad to see you use the Spyder plenty, like I did. I found it practical as a daily driver and used it any excuse I got. The roof doesn't leak, the ground clearance is quite good and more boot space than I have now. The car looks good. What do you use on it? It's nice to get to see my 'ex online'[:)] The Spyder was the best iteration of the 987 imho.
More boot space if you don't count the massive area behind the seats.
Yeah there's a lot of load carrying space behind there with the rear seats folded down. I made use of that a couple of times. One was over Christmas, carrying loads of big Christmas presents. But you can't conceal your cargo if you need to park up somewhere before getting to your unloading destination.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/115031290410/porsche-boxster-sypder-officially-announced-will-be Packing power from the Cayman GT4, or figures very close to it, the Porsche Boxster Spyder—or possibly RS Spyder, in homage to Porsches past—should offer plenty of punch, plus razor-sharp handling, a minimalist interior, and not a whole lot else, aside from the trademark slingback cloth top.

ORIGINAL: jayxx83 Back down to 3. The £43995 white Pdk looks to be sold now.
If it had been a manual short shift it would have sold in 1/2 the time for at least another £5k:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:and I should know owning a 3k mile paddle shifter[;)] :ROFLMAO:

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds?Category=used-cars&M=512&MaxPrice=50000&MinPrice=40000 Just checked only two left ... if you scroll down it shows the V911 sold for £42K which seems a bit of a bargain compared to the other two for sale albeit it sold a month or so back .

That black one sold last year sometime. It's an ad they left up to keep enquiries up. The white one they had in recently was a manual and sold pretty quickly with 18k miles for 44k I think
