Might be good for resale as it maybe lighter than the standard kit :ROFLMAO:. Enjoy and I look forward to hearing your views on Spyder 1 v Spyder 2 like you I am leaving my paddle shift for the 3 pedals and stick. I have really enjoyed my flirtation with paddle shiftin and may well have ordered it again had it been an option as I find the ratios beautifully stacked with 7th being an overdrive but as a manual die hard looking forward to less licence risking and more stick shifts

Not sure if I like the interior colour combo ..the seats look cool but not the dash ..just my opinion:rolleyes:
I think the dash roll in black would have worked better but only 14 days and I will be sat in this Spyder and can judge it close up and personal :ROFLMAO:

Daro

question, what did I miss out on links?

Actually the interior is better when you see it, the fact that alcantara is black and leather is red works. Think this car also has extra leather option on doors and if going for this interior I would add it otherwise you get odd looking bits that don't match.

anyway, some exterior shots, hopefully, next.

That does look nice with that colour combo!

Has anyone sat in the folding buckets in the 981 or even a 981 Spyder and how do they compare with them in the 987 Spyder overall ie position / view etc or do they feel the same?

reason I ask I am thinking of having them in the Gt4 as I loved them in my spyder!

Grab a bargain GT4 before the Spydermen Gen 2 arrive :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Those are the folding buckets in PEC Spyder.

I found them more comfortable than the newer 918 height adjustable type; got to sit in GT4 to try them. The 918 buckets have more support around waist height and so rubbed.

Ask to try both when you get to PEC.

Whilst you are thinking another 2 new Spyders have popped up making it a whopping 14 cars now out there which imo is about 10 too many for a good quick result [&:]

[/link][/ul]
DESCRIPTION
What a great car to drive! This rare UK supplied RHD Boxster Spyder continues that long tradition of pared down limited edition Porsches that deliver an unmatched pure and focused driving experience. The car remains however very usable and, as usual, is manufactured to very high standards. This example is finished to a desirable specification including the six speed manual gearbox and bucket sports seats. It is virtually ‘as new’ having covered only 6,000 summer miles in the hands of two owners from new. It was supplied by Porsche Bournemouth to a local customer who retained it until last year. We purchased the car for a valued client who has used the car minimally since. It comes with full history, all books tools and keys. A wonderful and very collectible Porsche for not much money! I have sat in the yellow gt4 PEC car at the launch view and prefer my old folding buckets but have not sat in folding buckets in a 981 hence I want to know how they compare to a 987 seating position? ,it will be too late when I do my driving day at PEC in October as my spec. will be locked in!

the 987/2 spyder buyers now have more choice. i still think the "top" spec low milage cars will sell very quickly as so few come up with "top" spec whatever that is

With regard to my drive... You must bear in mind several caveats. For example, it is a couple of years since I sold my 987 Spyder, and the experience of the fabulous facilities of the PEC may not fully translate to use on the road in the real world. I would say the new car is quite different from the 987 Spyder, but also different from a 981 Boxster, and yet does not really feel like a combination of the two. I have owned a 997/1 GT3 and I would say that - for me - it most closely resembles a comfortable, open-topped GT3 in a Boxster chassis. It is - I emphasise - different from the previous Spyder. It does not feel as 'carefree' or dainty, but it counters that by feeling thoroughly complete and painstakingly developed, and fabulously responsive to all driver inputs. Acceleration and braking are much stronger than the previous car's. The steering is noticeably more direct (different rack, smaller wheel) than the 981's, but is delicate and not heavy even with an armful of lock. It has plenty of feel. As much as the 987 Spyder's? I am honestly not sure but I found the steering delightful and feelsome (and have owned an Elise; my personal steering zenith). I may write more tomorrow but, in short, it's a car in which steering, performance, handling, grip, feel, noise, ride, balance, braking and involvement are all highlights and all beautifully matched. There isn't one stand-out aspect. The car is simultaneously a real hoot to drive and a gloriously impressive demonstration of just what can be achieved with four wheels and an engine. But... When considering its antecedent, it is DIFFERENT. As different as the lack of the Porsche side-stripes suggest. It has grown up a bit and is a little more sophisticated and much more complete. No longer a one-trick pony, now a fabulous thoroughbred. Brakes are simply fantastic. Powerful, easy and satisfying to modulate even under extreme use, and the car is never even slightly squirrely even under massive braking loads. The chassis feels playful and totally engaging even fully within the confines of the tyres' grip, and I found it natural to control and exploit even beyond that (I have a fair bit of past low-grip experience to call upon, which may have helped).

I was told they feel higher than in 987. Otherwise are they not same folding buckets?

They are are the same and i cannot see how they feel higher unless 981 dash lower?
