Only a short drive home so no real comparison at this stage.
However, Eat all those beans and you will be as loud at the rear end as the 981 in PSE mode![]
Congratulations John. Your pics of your new car show it off well! I think in amongst the many current models and variants that Porsche produces, the Spyder for me is right up there in terms of smiles per mile. The looks, the sound, the open air, the most revised body of any base model in the whole Porsche range. That provides a lot of enjoyment of ownership. People talk about manual vs PDK as the root of car enjoyment, but I think the Spyder (whether 987 or 981) with its style statement, open air invigoration (I rarely open my sunroof on a coupe - it's just not the same as a convertible), make these cars a joy to own. And that's regardless of track stats, performance figures and all the other stuff that doesn't really matter when you're having fun on your favourite road in the sun or under the stars or just looking at your car stationary on the drive, reminding yourself you made a good choice.
Enjoy!
I had mine out yesterday, roof off, SP on, driving my favourite B route home from work (the long way !) and it's proper ace, as we say in the west country []
On another thread, today I drove my 05 plate Boxster S into work (complete with Carnewal GT Exhaust).
Current value approx 14K.
Still loving this thing.... Can there be any other sports car that gives better value for your buck ??
I did have to adjust to the baby brakes pretty quickly though [8|]

Congratulations on the new car by the way, it looks great. I know I am biased but I think that's the colour route I would have chosen too.
