Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

No, I go for how the car's looks appeal to me, not 'look at me'. And as I say, it doesn't bother me if some people detest the car. I really liked the Z3 M Coupe, which some people said looked like a bread van. I liked it's quirky shape.

We've all been asked to rev it, floor it, etc. Someone asked me if my Spyder was a Ferrari lol.

I don't display my cars as trophy cars. If I go to a Porsche club event I park it up with all the others, typically more in need of a wax and polish than the others too lol. If no one comes over to see the turbo that's fine with me :) I'll be off somewhere looking at all the quirky or classic stuff :)

Defiantly looks good no one can deny that taken at a show last week

Definitely drives good nobody who has actually driven one can deny that and the car has the looks, drive and soundtrack to make it another bargain priced sports car from the guys at Stuttgart.

When does the real deal = fake over run ! lol , hay ho Not Porsche's fault just a 2016 car trend atm, not one I can say I like.

But at least you can switch it off now and again ..unlike some on this forum :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

At times it is a bit loud and unnecessary .....and at times a hoot (the car I am talking about )[;)]

For people who say you cannot have this much fun for £80k !!!

The Mazda MX-5 is the 2016 Auto Express Roadster of the Year.

No car embodies the spirit of a roadster better than the [link=http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/mazda/mx-5]Mazda MX-5[/link]. With its nimble rear-wheel-drive handling, compact dimensions, an eye-catching price tag and simple fabric top, it delivers wind-in-the-hair thrills to the masses.

The key to the latest MX-5’s success is its focus on fighting the flab. Thanks to [link=http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/mazda]Mazda[/link]’s SkyActiv technology, this fourth-generation model weighs around 100kg less than its predecessor, meaning it feels faster and more agile than ever.

Did you see Autocar two weeks ago? Compared the new MX-5 with my 2011 Boxster 987.2. Five year old Boxster still wins!

that's because the 987.2 is the sweet sport in the Porker range, go try a newer car with eps, PTV etc and come back to me ;-)

Post Brexit Price not much over list now £77995.00

Vehicle DescriptionPORSCHE 981 BOXSTER SPYDER, 2016 MILEAGE: - 100 MILES ONLY, UK SUPPLIED CARRARA WHITE WITH BLACK LEATHER & ALCANTARA FACTORY OPTIONS INCLUDE:- 6 SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX, PORSCHE COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT, BOSE SURROUND SOUND, MOBILE PHONE PREPRATION, DIGITAL RADIO, HEATED ADAPTIVE SPORTS SEATS PLUS, TWO-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL, AUTO DIMMING MIRRORS WITH RAIN SENSOR, LIGHT DESIGN PACKAGE, BLACK BI-XENON HEADLIGHTS INCLUDING PDLS, REVERSING CAMERA, NET WIND DEFLECTOR, WHITE-PAINTED ROLL OVER BARS, 20” SPYDER DESIGN ALLOYS WITH COLOURED CRESTED WHEEL CENTRES, SPEED LIMIT DISPLAY, GUARDS RED SEAT BELTS, CENTRE CONSOLE IN LEATHER, SPORTS EXHAUST TAILPIPE, WHITE PAINTED VEHICLE KEY. The Boxster Spyder is the most extreme version of Porsche’s 981 Boxster. It is lighter by 30kg, longer by ten millimetres and lower by 11mm when compared with a Boxster GTS. The front end is more aggressive in its design and there are distinctive streamlined humps behind the rollover hoops (a tribute to the 718 Spyder of the 1960s). The Spyder’s 3.8-litre engine is a version of the one found in the new Cayman GT4 (and, obviously, the 991 Carrera S). Power is 45bhp up on a regular Boxster GTS and torque is up 37lb/ft, taking the total to 310lb ft. The steering rack is slightly quicker (taken from the 911 Turbo apparently) and the steering wheel is 360mm in diameter (as the GT4 and GT3 RS). Suspension is the 20mm lower, passive Sports version. There is a Sport Chrono package which has the provision of dynamic transmission mounts. On the rear axle is a mechanical LSD (22 per cent locking under power and 27 per cent on the overrun), which is part of the Porsche Torque Vectoring system. The roof on the Spyder is manual, and is far easier to raise and stow than on the 987. It can also be used right up to the Spyder’s top speed of 180mph. The mechanism saves 10kg and the large rear deck lid, which conceals both the folded hood and rear boot, is made of aluminium. This rare Porsche model was supplied by Official Porsche Centre West London. The balance of the factory’s 3-year warranty will be transferred to the new owner. [/ul]

Seems a fair price and nice spec even with the DFS Seats :ROFLMAO:

It looks like prices are starting to drop that bit the cheapest one advertised is at £75K = 14% over list and not much movement in the market even with 987 at a low around the £37 K . A sign of the market to come, new car sale in general are down also .

what's odd is we have a 987.2 £50k Spyder at an opc and a £52k Cayman R

plus Hexagon seem to be able to sell £75k 997.2 GTS's no issue

new cars are a fashion fad, people want the older cars which drive better ;-), I have decided to move my GT4 on also the R's a better road car.

As for Brexit ! the UK is strong, the fake reports from the BOE were bull**** with his mate George, now that's been outed yesterday we have a FTSE which is the highest it's been for 12 months, and the £ has been rising every day since the lies from the BOE and George !

The EU is doomed, the UK is one of the most secure Countries in the world.

it was interesting the meeting yesterday, Carny had some strong questions to answer !!! I watched it live for 2.5 hours at 10am.

will the minutes with Cary and George come out, NOPE, that's an internal affair, but the risk report imo was a fix and the chaiman also thought so, you could tell by his questions.

IMO is another reason why our prime minister stood down before the lies come out !

both sides ran a really bad underhand campaign , just glad we are out of one of the worlds most corrupt organisations, the "EU" where wages are high and no one gets a vote on what is said or who is in power !

Carney killed the £ and it will come back in time and has been rising since the vote. I think in voters only voted for selfish reason(ie people I know just moan about holiday money) , but the out vote won thank goodness ! Wales to the rescue.

Now we just need the big money people who did vote in to start paying their Tax's which they seem to avoid !!!

it has made the news today but no one cares really

"The Bank of England governor has said it is "important" that he and Chancellor George Osborne are allowed to have private meetings."

"Mark Carney has agreed minutes of their private talks on Brexit may be examined "discreetly" by MPs"

general public as I said have no clue what's going on !

Well said Mr D [;)] and most don't understand government(s) run their proganda machine on the founding principle that will never change imo "FEAR"

"False Evidence Appearing Real"

Now back to something far from "FEAR" :ROFLMAO:
