When I took out passengers for the heart foundation day years ago I kept spinning because of the different balance
Ye cannae scare me, I'm used to hitting things in a 944, so merely spinning is a walk in the park
In truth I was looking at the belts yesterday and concluded they would be better through the seat sides. I don't have an issue on the passenger side as I don't have harnesses. On the drivers side I am concerned the two will conflict so may have to "officially" ditch the inertia belt.

when Id mentioned it before, another member, who didnt know as much as he thought he did, lambasted me
Then he clearly does not comprehend simple physics and seat belt design and useage and is therefore NOT someone to go near on road or track as he is obviously cleverer than automotive engineers and has re-written the principles of retaining a human beings body`s momentum safely and is clearly made of stronger stuff than you or I.

Steady..................I know you`ve owned a Westy (harnesses de riguer) and therefore you`ll know what a pain in the *rse they are in daily use
I personally hate harnesses for daily use (the novelty wears off really quickly) so undoing one bolt so as to utilise the already installed harnesses (I`m happy to spend a few minutes undoing one sill bolt) so as to unthread the OEM main belt cant be a major issue. The torque tube tunnel fixing can have both harness and seat belts bolted in parallel by using longer bolts.
In an ideal world specify harnesses that utilise eye bolts - in this way the OEM seat belts can be bolted in and harnesses clipped on as required.

I got that bit right then [

Both arm and eye bolt can rotate although they are hard up against the tunnel.
There is a similar eye bolt on the door side bracket.
Mounting both the original belt and the harness through the side hole isn't an issue in retrospect and will be done come the morrow.
I agree that a harness is not much fun for going shopping but I do like the plugged in feel you get if you are going for a serious drive.

You would be most welcome Paul. Are you sure you don't want some very rare split rear seat backs as well?
